I believe that there has been discussion in the past in this Forum on replacing this foam with other materials to seal the connection. Any insights or links would be appreciated.

I had the same thing happen on my 1993 Suburban. Went to a couple of places like OSH and Home Depot and found some weatherstrip foam that was almost the same size and was self adhesive on one side. Scrapped off the old foam, cleaned off the old adhesive with goof off, applied the new and re-assembled. Make sure you get the small cell foam vs. the large cell.

AirBox Seal Fabrication
The mice have made a meal of the seal between our air flilter housing and the inner fender. I though of using air conditioner weatherstripping foam to try to fix it up but wasn't sure if it gets hot under there. Any opinions?
