Dealer just reached out to me saying they could get me an XL denali cause they received an allocation for those this week, but no shorties. I dont really need the XL as I only have 2 kids and 95% of the time, it's just me driving by myself.

Big question... do I just take the bird in the hand allocation with the diesel reserve package? Or be hopeful that they get an allocation I'm the next 2 weeks for the normal denali.... I've had my order in since August.

If I would buy again, I would get the XL. With the third row seats upright, the regular wheelbase isn’t big enough for much behind it. The XL isn’t that much longer.

really depends. If you’re not gonna use the extra space then what’s the point? But I personally wish I bought the XL. I pick up a lot of larger items. so I wish my trunk just just a bit bigger.

Dang if you don’t get it let me have it my order has been since may of last year hahah.
In all actuality unless you’re planning on having the third row seats folded down 100% of the time that current back space is not even enough for you to put a stroller in. It doesn’t sound like you have kids in the stroller age… But just to give you an idea about the capacity in the back.

Also if you’re planning on going on any road trips or long halls that you want to pack additional stuff for that extra space will come in handy. But if it’s just a day-to-day driver I can see where your tossup us. It is a real question of if you would be willing to wait for the 2023 to get the short model

XL all day long. Tows better, looks better, holds tons of stuff without folding down the seats, basically the same performance specs. We only have 2 kids and the short wheelbase was not even a consideration. If you’re going big you might as well go BIG

Without taking measurements yet, how likely is the big boy going to fit in a normal sized 2.5car garage straight in ?

I think I am going to pull the trigger and hope for the best with it fitting in my garage .... worst case I still have my other order in for a SWB that I could place and sell the XL for what I paid if not more ...... seeing as xl/diesel should be a hot buy.

Originally was going to get midnight blue with dark ash/walnut interior....but considering changing it up for the satin steel or dark metallic sky if they still do that one

I had a 2016 tahoe and went to a new Yukon xl. Should fit in a standard garage. It's worth it to go big. I loved our Tahoe but with 3 kids there was never enough space... no suburban or xl owner will you ever find complaining about all the room they have. The same is not true for tahoe and Yukon owners.

Measured it out... I seem to have about 6" to spare from the back of the 215" listed on the website for the dims to where my garage door comes down.

97% sure I will be pulling the trigger and taking that allocation being offered. Will keep yall posted.

I recall going on a vacation a couple years ago and my buddy brought 3 kids in his swb Escalade and was hella cramped for room with a cooler and bikes and whatnot. We rolled in the suburban, 2 kids, cooler, bikes, etc and had room to spare

to make parking in the garage easier park once (exactly where you want it), then hang a tennis ball from the ceiling with a string and place it so it just touches the windshield, then you will be able park perfectly every single time. just pull in until the tennis ball touches the windshield.

I kind of do this except I line up the emergency release handle of the garage door with the seam of the sunroof and it puts the Yukon perfectly placed in the garage. About 8” rear bumper to garage door when closed and a couple feet in front.

Game changer for parking in same spot in garage:

Fosmon, Wider Angle Upgrade, Dual Laser Garage Parking Assist Guide System, 360-degree Adjustable Parking Sensor with AC Adapter and Battery Backup for Car/Automotive https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PTDBYS...t_i_J344JV0XCFKKQK7CSEK5?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
It’s amazing humans have survived all these years without all this glorious tech dumbing down the most basic tasks. Heaven forbid I have to stop in the same spot in my garage on a daily basis all on my own…
