Previous owner of a 06 Yukon and after getting a few other cars and the wife a truck I finally got myself a new truck... I found a low miles (60K) 19 XL at the insurance auction with a light hit in the front so repairs are going to be very minimal...

A few things I knew would be an issue is transmission and suspension... Since it's pretty low on miles I'll be planning for a full replacement of the transmission eventually, but for now should I have any special transmission service done? Since it's a write off from an insurance company I won't know too much about what has been done etc so I typically do a full all fluid service and maintenance once it's back on the road.

The suspension has magnetic ride control which i'm assuming is air bags? As a car guy I had a nice CLS 550 with air bags and it was a nightmare.. Quickly put some after market coilovers on it.. I prefer street rides and low the low look. The ride height doesn't look too bad, but my weekend ride is a laid purple wrapped convertible audi so if I can get an after market kit with 2-3 / 4-5 I would be looking into that if anyone can point out some options I would appreciate it..

I love the denali package, but it's a bit much on the chrome side so I'm also considering either a chrome delete on the trim and maybe the grill / door handles if anyone has suggestions..

Looking forward to getting it delivered next week and I'll be glad to post pics and answer questions as I go..

Forgot to mention I also picked up a AFM/DFM OBD device to hopefully avoid the issue with lifters going bad.. Does anyone know if there is a service / maintenance that can done to help avoid the problem is just budget for the work eventually???

Magnetic ride control and air leveling are two diffrent things on these trucks. Since you bought a Denali you have both of them. Do some google searches and you will find your answers.

As to lowering there are few ways of doing it, see the sport suspension section.

I typically buy CPO vehicles and I would do the same routine for yours: Go to the severe service section of the owners manual, assume nothing has been done, and use this as your maintenance guide moving forward.

Also a disabler will not save your lifters…it’s a crapshoot IMHO, so don’t defer maintenance and also plan/budget for the worst while hoping for the best.

IMHO
YMMV

Great find!!

You are already receiving sage advice from the knowledgeable folks on this Forum.

The topics that you brought up are very common topics, so use the Search tool, and you will find loads of content on these topics.

As one who has had both the active and passive suspensions on these truck, I strongly recommend that you keep the active suspension, but at the end of the day, it is a personal preference choice.

If you are into mods, there are many available for your truck.
