playing around with my compression calculator, I noticed I missed a few fields when doing my original check using the +8cc pistons.
Looks like if I use the head gasket I have on hand, .030 thickness.
I'll get a static compression of 10.29
Currently I have 10.32
Dynamic doesn't change from the current 9.40

:hmmm2:
I have an excel spreadsheet that calculates that stuff, want it?

I reached out to circle d about my possible converter issues.
I also noticed my double disk converter is no longer available.
they replaced it with a triple disk!
that triple disk converter also has different options available for the stall speed.

They offered a $200 credit towards an upgrade should i want to rule out a converter issue + upgrade to the new triple disk converter.
not great since that converter was something like $700 less than a year ago, but it's something.

Spending some time doing some reading and planning my next "While I'm in there" adventure.

I'm thinking pretty seriously about upgrading the transmission cooler lines to 1/2in (-8an).

Ordered the 6l80 cooler port adapter to -8an and some hard lines for me to mold.

And now I'm shopping for the remaining fittings.

Will they not freshen up your converter? I bought a circle d for the avalanche but I didn't pay attention to any specifics on a restall or refresh. I have a pro yank in the camaro and it comes with a 1 time refresh and restall IIRC.

I think i went to "wordy" with my ask for help.
I meant to run with it as an option, but instead they ran with that as the solution.

I'll work to see if we can't have it just looked at, maybe even give me some tips on what to look for if the converter did balloon.

Part of my wondering,
I bought this during the rona lockdowns and crap.
maybe they had the new guy running the machines.
It might explain why i got a random piece of what appeared to be converter body in my cooler lines.

Also noting that this was not an issue i had before, and i still have the original 5.3 thrust bearing.
Very little to no wear on it.
and everything was fine, right up until i hit about 1k miles.
