Ice is no joke. Way worse than snow. We had an ice storm a few years ago. 3/4” of solid ice. Power was out for 3 days.
Agree.

However, if I have to deal with both, I’d rather have the snow down first than the freezing rain on top. It’s easier to clear the snow that way. When it rains and then snows, you get a 2” layer of heavy slush under all the snow and it is a pain.

Well...first we got freezing rain, just about 1/8”. Then it snowed about 2-3”. That was yesterday morning and the daytime. Then freezing rain again started just before dark but this time it was more like 3/8” it looks like and then during the night it snowed again. It’s hard to tell how much snow we got all together since the east wind was blowing 30-50mph here all night and it drifted as it snowed. The drifts are glued in place by the ice. The ice was cleared off The Beast yesterday when I went for a drive but that 3/8” layer is on it now and I’m not going to try to thaw it out this time. I don’t need to go for a joy ride that bad. Looks cool though. From in here where it’s warm. :) The awning doesn’t look so good though.

Here’s an idiot that I can tell you is not from here. The roads are full of these boneheads that can’t drive in the best of conditions and then when it gets bad they’re out there in their damn pajamas getting stuck and jamming up the roads. Awhile ago a watched a new neighbor deice her car for like a hour and I’m thinking where the f do you think you’re going in that? She made it halfway into the street and got stuck so now she can’t even get back into her driveway. Idiots.

I tell my kids to always have proper cold weather gear in their vehicle for the odd event they get stuck or have car trouble. They think they can just wear a sweatshirt because they will be in a car. Seems to be the trend with teenagers.

Lol. Yeah, though I am almost always out in shorts and a t-shirt, I do have cold weather gear in the vehicle at all times. You have to be prepared!

I got a new shark fin antenna thanks to @Sam Harris, painted and installed it today. This p/n is listed as OEM for an 06 Denali and Sam said he saw one on an 06 I think. Anyway thought I’d give it a try to see if it fits in place of my old ugly one. It does fit, however the coax connector doesn’t plug in. That doesn’t matter to me since the OnStar is outdated in this truck and hasn’t worked in forever. I cut the damn cable off. Also the mount is a bit bigger with the plastic locator piece on so I just removed it and it fits perfectly. 80 in/lbs on the mount bolt and it sealed right up. Non functional just like the old one but it looks way better. PN 25775201, fits 00-06.

I cleared the ice off and went for a drive today. Just shot a short video, there were way too many idiots out and about- both in vehicles and dragging their kids around in the streets. What happened to parking lots or sidewalks?
LOL, that's not even considered enough snow to be an inconvenience here!

My 14YO daughter all the way. I park as far away from the store as possible every time!

I installed the new air line set I bought from RA for the rear shocks and compressor. It doesn’t take much for me to remember how much I hate working under the truck on my back. Anyway, I covered all the lines with split loom just because. Actually the one that goes to the PS shock was wrapped inside the main loom originally and I wasn’t going to undo that loom so I just cut the line off at both ends and ran the new line inside it’s own loom, then decided to wrap the others. The old lines looked good especially considering they’re almost 20 years old. Hooked up the Tech2 and tested to see if it holds pressure. All is good!
