I got new wheels for the Tahoe, put some new Lexani LX Thirties in 305/40-22 on them with new TPMS sensors. It’s nice to not have the nagging idiot light in it. The Beast got its wheels back and I was able to remove the hideous 2” spacers I had to put on the fronts to clear the Wilwoods with the 20” LTZ wheels. Now to figure out the drivetrain issue.

I’m still removing the mold release on the new tires. Anybody have suggestions?

I used this kit to clean and dress my brand new tires. The brown junk took some elbow grease but took it back to black and ready for the coating. Just an option. They are located over in Naples, FL.

Here's a pic of the tires getting scrubbed and prepped for the coating. It is a lot of scrubbing, not going to lie, but when the suds are white, not brown, you are good to go.

How do you like it? Have you had it on for awhile?

I will give it a thumbs up. I've had it on for 1 month now and many washings and it was super shiny. The key part is the prep work - scrubbing and scrubbing and scrubbing again the tires clean to get all the new tires coating and road grime off. I applied 3 coats of the dressing with the provided sponge making sure to get it in all the grooves/letters of the tires and down the bead, making sure to keep it off the wheel/wipe it off right away, otherwise it will be there for a very long time.

Then let it set (they say 24 hrs no rain) which in Florida right now is hard, but the heat and humidity set it off. The real test will come when I can get a day without rain or wet roads and wash the tires and wheels really well to see the shine. I may add a new topcoat to enhance the shine, but overall, I'd rank it high and far better than any of the usual off-the-shelf dressings that just wear off, absorb, bake in with the sun or just wash off with rain or washings.

@adventurenali92 introduced me to the product and @BADRIDES used it as well. Good customer service on the phone and a family operated business. My .02.

I actually ordered Cerakote’s tire dressing kit. I’ve used their headlight restoration kit and their trim restoration kit and both are amazing products that last for a long long time. I have every belief that their tire kit will be the same. I just about have that residue cleaned off with 2 sessions of Simple Green concentrated cleaner. One more should do it. It’s not hard, just have to let it dry between scrubbing so you can see if there’s any left.

Yeah I heard Florida has had a wet summer. Ours has been perfect again, one day above 100 I think otherwise no rain for about 3 months except for a day or two of slight sprinkles. We still have another week or 2 of sunshine with temps in the upper 70’s-low 80’s. No humidity and no sizzling temps. Ahhh.

CERAKOTE Rapid Ceramic Tire Coat – Showroom New Tire Shine – Deep Tire Black Finish – Lasts Up to 10x Longer – No Sling, Non-Greasy Ceramic Tire Coating for Car, Truck & SUV – Easy Application (10oz) https://a.co/d/ejjHMY8

I’m sure it will be a great result. No doubt. Interested to see what you think.

Yes drought between 14-18 inches below normal rainfall. News said one of worst.

Last 2 weeks the skies have opened up with torrential rains that have helped but they come hard and fast tropical style then run away.

Washe the Shburbsn medley to remove the dirt knowing it was only semi clean in the darkness to satisfy my need to wash it. lol

Good luck with the tire cleaning. Hardest darn part. Scrub walk away scrub scrub …

Hey Mark,

This is today after a full wash down. Used the stiff hand brush and wash mitt going around the tires a couple times to clean the tires from all the rain.

I’d say they look pretty good considering the thrashing torrents on
I-95 and puddles on the side streets.

I did not add any more dressing this time.

I might put another coat on in a few weeks when the rains calm down a bit.

Hope yours turn out like you want them.

And the wheels have 3 coats of ceramic coating. Just lots of suds and a separate mitt for the inside of the barrel. Nothing you don’t already do yourself esp with The Machine’s wheels!

I used the Cerakote and it seems great to me. Like all these types of products, only time will tell. I have used their trim coat and headlight restoration kit with great results so I expect nothing less than that here. The $15 bottle is probably 1/8 from full after 8 tires but 4 of those sidewalls were only about 2” . ;) The applicator is great at keeping it off the rims while still getting all the way TO the rims. And the gloss is about right, not too shiny.
