In an effort to cut down on the interior finishes I just ordered a set of brushed metal steering wheel covers. Eh, it's just another $115. That's the last thing that was wrapped. Figured might as well, the steering wheel itself is new.
If you return those, I have a set of black ones I'll ship you for free so you can paint them to match your door trim...

In all reality the brushed ones aren’t going to look much different than the ones I wrapped. Which I could also strip and paint. But my mind is made up!

Got 2 small issues resolved today. The HVAC control was only $50 so I got kinda lucky there, just had to swap the escutcheon. The switch bezel was too wide around the outside curve and was hitting on the inside so I had to Dremel out the door panel inside the handle area.

I did take a day off- from work that is. I was having problems with my left ankle (again) so I’m going to get it checked out. I just did some minor stuff on the truck lol.

Holy shit I just looked up the part number on the back of that hvac control and used ones are going for $400 on EBay and new ones for $600. If you can find one. I definitely won’t be upgrading the damn thing with the Tech2. It works and looks good, so I’m not gonna mess with it.

I tore the whole front half of the interior out and I was troubleshooting the dome circuit. It seemed I had a short to ground on the line from the BCM. I was looking at the wires I had attached to the circuit to connect the puddle lights and thought wtf, try cutting those wires from where they were attached. As soon as I cut the wire going to the passenger one the dome lights came on. I removed the lower half of the dash and found where it got crushed when I screwed the dash down to the steel bracing. Unfortunately no matter where I looked I could not locate the airbag problem and I mean I tore the shit out of things, so I’m leaving it alone for now. I’m sure there’s no pinched wires anywhere I had stuff torn apart so I put everything back together, completely, for the first time.

As soon as I did that, USPS showed up and delivered the brushed steering wheel trim so off came the wheel and on went the trim. Like I thought, there is almost no noticeable difference to anybody but me. Then I went for the first drive in months. It’s like a new truck and it smells like a new truck too. Stereo is awesome also. There’s way less road noise due to sound deadening in the doors. The switches took a minute to get used to but I like not having to lean forward to reach the front switch especially since I need to use it a lot around town.

Thanks for the compliments guys. Here’s some finished interior shots. I discovered 2 of my window switches weren’t working last night so I disassembled them and cleaned the contacts with an eraser today and they all work now.

That’s ok. It’s the only place that particular one fits but I do already have another brushed trim piece for that area that doesn’t have a hole cut in it for an air gauge. I am planning on possibly doing a digital setup but haven’t decided on exactly what yet. Im on it in other words but I wanted the truck functional at this point. The gauge is important, I need to be able to see both front and rear pressure but I also want tank pressure. Do you have suggestions or not lol?

I debated on commenting but it always caught my eye when looking at your dash and not in a good way, more like out of place. I have built enough vehicles to appreciate a little honest feedback from another set of eyes. You have probably thought of this already but why not a gauge on pillar? It would be better vision for for you to see and look visually cleaner.

Move the rocker switch you have in the cubby to the otherwise useless pocket next to the headlight knob.
