Just ahead of the rear diff, mounted to the driveshaft tunnel. Gotta drop the spare to get at it, but swapping it out from there is a 10 minute job.

I also bought a new vent valve intending to replace that while I was back there, but the one I ordered is the wrong part. Amazon parts engine strikes again!

In case you didn't see it, they updated the design. Or maybe it's just the one they have on the newer models that superseded the older one. Regardless, there's an adapter harness because the plugs are different.

Oy vey.

Do you happen to have the parts numbers needed? Canister, valve, and harness?

Or is all that obvious on Rock Auto?

Can't speak for RA as I ordered mine off Amazon back in October of 2020. For my '08, I ordered:

#215-464 Vapor Canister
#20995472 Vapor Canister Vent Valve
#19257603 Adapter Harness for Vapor Canister Vent Valve (actually bought a knock-off for half the price since it's just an adapter)

I just remembered something. I think the large hose on the new vent valve is shaped a little differently. I think all I did was flip it over and route it slightly differently than the original. Maybe routed it over something when the original went under it? Whatever it was, it was an easy fix.

Pulled the canister up first, and the other two came up as frequently bought together. Lol

That explains it, thanks. My original is still working fine so imma let it ride unless that’s a bad idea.

Here’s the canister I bought:
Help me decide on this product: GM Genuine Parts 22963841 Vapor Canister https://a.co/d/aNePH5s

And the valve:
GM Genuine Parts 23481275 Vapor... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00RW3A04E?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

And the solenoid:
Standard Motor Products Canister... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004J9EGX0?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I see now that there’s a note on the valve for the adapter harness:
Note:USE T/W 19257603 PACKARD TO USCAR CONNECTOR JUMPER HARNESS

Cool. Thanks!
pro tip when doing it: disconnect the fuel filler tube from the body and pull it down from the inside, cut the old air filter loose to remove and zip tie the new one to the upper part of the filler tube stick the filler tube back up and reconnect to the body. otherwise you are reaching up there blind to get the old filter off.
you may find the old filter dangling and hanging down already but it is supposed to be attached to the upper part of the filler tube to keep dust and dirt from getting into it.
makes the job much easier
the connectors are all quick connect, push the connector forward, squeeze the sides and pull back to release while squeezing.

Foam from The Seat Shop and cover from US Auto Nation. Pro tip: get the cover from the Seat Shop too. Had to make minor mods to the one I got and the color is very close but not perfect. We'll see how it holds up. Much more firm and supportive than the cushion I took out though. Very happy overall.

Swapped out the old chrome LTZ five spokes for a set of Silverado wheels. The Chrome was starting to flake and slow leak around the bead. Found a guy on marketplace that swapped his for black rims and just wanted them out of his garage. Got lucky with that find. Glad I pulled the trigger.
I was wondering how those would look on a tahoe, looks great! i see them on the silverados in the neighborhood and they arent a bad looking wheel

Pro pro tip: clean the old leather with Foaming Bubbles Bathroom Cleaner and a stiff brush, the Seat Shop has a video on it. And a steam cleaner with an added rubber hose on the end inserted into the area where the wrinkles are and shot with a few puffs will fluff up the foam more and no more wrinkles. Don’t hit it too hard with steam though or the cover will get damaged. I did all new Katzkins in my Silverado and the steamer was a must.

My money is on the reverse centrifugal rotation of the wheel being swapped from one side to the other caused the sensor to skitz out on me.

Then all your sensors are in for a treat cuz swapping sides is part of the proper tire rotation pattern, according to the manual. Or do you just do fronts and backs on the same sides?

All those are different part numbers than mine. They could just be updated numbers for the same parts or maybe the long bodies or 6.2s use different parts. I'm not sure how I could help you decide on any of them. :p

I think only 2 of the 4 swap sides on a rotation stated in the manual. The other 2 stay on the same side and just move to either front or back.

Cleaned throttle body and MAF at 247k miles. Last cleaned around 150k and didn't remove throttle last time. I did open the flap a bit to fit toothbrush for cleaning but no relearn process needed.

Right, but, at some point, all the wheels end up being ran in both directions. My point was that the sensors shouldn't be skitzing out over this. I've driven backward plenty fast enough and for long enough to know. :p

I double-check on unfamiliar cars. But generally, it's "cross the non-driven wheels".

Yeah, I don't think it matters which set crosses as long as you do it the same every time. Both of the cars I showed above are AWD and they both show a different way, lol
