Ah it's ok.

It's frustrating. So since I started this thread, I've made some moves that I'm super annoyed at. This was yesterday, before I started talking about the Tyre feature with you.

I went to discount tire and succumbed to their wiles. They convinced me to purchase their sensors for $270 with a 6 year warranty.

Now, it's looking like I may be able to figure this out, but it could've been done without the huge expense. Sucks.

But if I get them working, at least they'll have a warranty.

So now I'm trying to figure out what to do when I get home.

First step is the relearn. You said it took a couple of days for the light to go away? Dag yo, haha!

Having trouble finding any instructional videos on the Phoenix too. I love being a dude. With trial and error and comms with other dudes, we seem to always figure things out!

well if you bought the ones from discount tire I guess this thread is done.
My opinion is super cheap parts more then often result in cheap results, for something that requires breaking down the tire to install or remove I would gamble on something a little more name brandish....
if they programmed correctly and then you turn around and get a check tire pressure message then there is something wrong with them.
that should not happen and NO it should not take a "couple days" for them to decide to work (unless it's not being driven or not driven very far), they should pretty much work on the fly which is the whole point of having a tpms system in place to begin with.
if you have 36 psi in all 4 tires and manually lower one to 25 psi (-10 psi difference from another) and then go drive it a tpms light or check tire message should pop up within a fairly short period (within 15 minutes of driving above 20mph)

If run at the pressure the truck is already set at the reset is immediate.
Changing tire type and pressure in the tpms system freaks it out for a day or two in my experance.

Ok guys, good news. The wife drove it today after flashing tire parameters last night.

She said the light went off and they're reading 36 psi. I think it worked!

Air all 4 tires to 42 psi & see if the warning goes away, if it does it just means the tire psi you've chosen is lower than the ecm setting to warn you

If you want to run less or more psi than the current setting in the ECM, you have to change that range; if you don't the ECM will just assume your tire inflation needs to be checked

All the TPMS sensors I have installed worked right away. I would have them installed at a local tire shop and to save money I always program them at home. So I drive home, hook up the scanner or sometimes just use the factory reset. Takes about 10 minutes and done., No more work needed till the batteries die.

I do have one of the TPMS activators so I don’t have to raise and lower Air Pressure to set the system.

Might be bad tire pressure sensors. With your scanner you should be able to see what the battery voltage is for each sensor.
I have the same sensor activator West 1 has and it works good and cheap enough.

Purchased. Tires have been good now since last post.

Super glad I started this thread. I feel like tpms BS should be a sticky because of how frustrating it can be

that's just a tool to sync the tpms sensors to the vehicle, the one's I was referring to allow you to set the vehicle type year/make/model, etc as some of the sensors are universal, they just need to be programmed for the intended use.

I put new sensors in and used the cheap Amazon 10$ tool and it worked fine on the 07 and 12

again that's just a midspan tool, it just walks the dog, connects a to b.
I have one as well it works for most gm. but it does not "program" a sensor.
you have to that type of sync tool or better for 2010 and up, previous years you could just let some air out, that method no longer works
some tpms sensors come not-programmed and can be used on a grocery list of vehicles but they have to be told what they will installed on with a programmer, you select the year make model and then the programmer sends the firmware file to the sensor (otherwise it's just blank and won't do anything).
those types of programmers typically run $200+ even for china junk/clones
even the $200 one I linked previously only works for programming autel mx sensors

In addition to being a very handy scan tool, my Autel MaxiPRO MP808S-TS will do the initial programming of Autel MX sensors, as well as electronically set the wheel positions for existing (even non-Autel) sensors.
