While I did not complete all of this today I did complete it over the course of a couple days.

Dropped oil pan and replaced oil pressure relief valve.

Pulled timing cover and replaced timing chain with an LS2 chain.

Replaced oil pump with a Mellings 10355 high volume high pressure oil pump.

Removed the intake manifold to gain access to oil pressure sending unit to remove the screen filter for the AFM solenoids and give more clearance when I hoisted the engine up to remove and replace motor mounts.

New intake, valve cover, timing chain cover, oil pan gaskets.

New motor mounts.

New upper and lower radiator hoses and coolant.

New oversized K&N oil filter and Mobil 1 extended performance 15,000 mile oil.

New upper control arms.

New lower ball joints.

New cross drilled and slotted brake rotors and
ceramic pads at all 4 corners.

New Nokian 70,000 mile tires mounted and balanced.

Front end alignment.

I am very pleased with the results of the new oil pump. Before I would see about 40psi oil pressure at idle on a cold start up and about 25psi at idle when it was warmed up. Now I see 60+ at idle on a cold start and just below 60psi
at idle after its up to temperature.

I forgot to take pics of the rear but they look the same only with single piston calipers out back.

I painted the rotors and calipers with high temp gun metal gray paint and the pads with high temp red. Of course the first time you touch the brakes the rotors face gets wiped of paint but the edge and hat remain painted and hopefully wont rust for a long time. I took it out and bedded in the new brake pads and after that she stops really well.

Here is one cool thing that I had never seen before.... These tires are made in Finland and they have a tread depth percentage gauge built into the tread... I thought that was pretty slick.

Heck yea nokian tires are great we use them in the winter here... best tire ive used for bad weather. And the tread % is a bonus haha.

I thought the tread gauge was pretty neat. I had never seen it before and to be honest I had never heard of Nokian tires before, but in my defense we don't get much snow around here in Florida. I bought the tires from a wholesale place around here. 275/55/R20 70,000 mile tires for $107 a piece, I thought that was a pretty good price for 20's.

Right, i visited fl in oct one year and was swimming in the outdoor pool while others were in the hot tub :happy175:

107 yeeaahh thats a good price, which ones did you get "rotivas" idk spelling haha. I just have some factory goodyears that were taken off a lot truck. Couldnt pass up newish tires for 200/4..

@Galante Back to the first post about the bug guards. Paint to match guards look good. Check out @Burb!! his is legit, can barely even tell its there. One time I saw his truck was like why his headlights and grille look different, then closer look its the bug guard painted to match. Personally I don't like them either but done right, they can look good and provide the protection they are made for. For yours it looked good since your truck is black I would keep it. Getting the low pros as well and paint to match look good too.
...my paint matched guard works way better than any wrap or film I've ever had...those films always end up changing to a yellowish dull color. Might work for a darker vehicle. Definitely didn't work on my white rig.

Took it to the stealership to get the crank relearn done.

Had a 10 minute, polite disagreement with the service adviser that you don't have to flash the ECM to do a crank relearn. I finally told him, "I know it can be done because I know countless people (you guys) that have had it done, please go ask your tech." He finally did and to his credit, admitted he was wrong. Twenty minutes and $45 later, my P0315 from the tune is gone and I still hate going to the dealer.

On a side note, when you guys take your truck to the dealer (admittedly most of us don't but occasionally have to), do you find yourself being a creeper and standing at the shop door watching them work on your truck or am I the only person that this distrusting?

Mine goes to the dealer when i need to get stuff done i dont want/know how to do.

Nah i dont stand in the doorway im sometime right next to the tech:D

Thankfully they are good here and the ones that are shady are gone.









But then again i work in the detail dept at the dealer and know the techs well..lol..

I even checked the mileage and location thru the app when i had to leave it there when new for my shock that was blown out at 3000 miles....

Did you ever see the utube vid of the techs that fried the guys clutch on a new Camaro and tried to blame the guy or some shit? Thats what i think about.....

I haven't been to a dealer or shop in a looong time for a personal vehicle. But, I do mosey around and kinda watch when/where possible. I usually try to make small talk with the tech- usually something about a next mod, as if I'm standing there to see it on the lift or whatever to get ideas and not there to helicopter the tech.

Distrusting? Maybe. But, trust is earned and not given. I've never been to any shop frequently enough to establish a trusting relationship with a tech, so I feel my suspicion or "distrust" (well, simple lack of trust is more accurate) is warranted. If they have nothing to hide, then they shouldn't mind a car guy (evident by his modded vehicle) watching over his baby and should actually sympathize with him.

Yeah, I just stood at the roll-up door at then end just so I know what's going on. I just don't trust anyone to treat what's mine with the same care I would.

Nope havent seen that one.. what a dbag.
Guy had a brand new camaro, dropped it off at a dealership from some minor issue but he hid a recorder or dashcsm was on or something and got the whole thing on tape, they still tried to deny it even after he put up the evidence....

That was my last trip to the dealer warranty work for shock but when i get an inspection the guy i go to makes me drive it in and the tire shop does the same.
