Currently poking around in my tune file. The program loaded on the ECM right now is the tune that came from Jasper for my replacement engine which was modified for the cam that is in it. Its very weird seeing what was changed.

I need to adjust the shift points. The engine makes power to like, 6,100 rpm and the shift points several hundred rpm below that. What I also need to do is turn down the shift pressure. I don't really know what the heck I'm looking at as far as how the tables work, so what I think I'm going to do is copy the tables from the stock tune file and load them into the new tune file. The WOT shift rpm makes sense to me but the partial throttle tables kinda throw me for a loop. I need to do more research.

I just installed an ACDelco, hope it lasts 160k like the first one which actually still wasn’t leaking.

Keep in mind many a trans have been blown due to people not knowing what they’re doing with tunes.

Yeah that’s why I’m not screwing with the tables. Everything in said tables looks very similar. It may just be shifting a little harder because it is making more torque. I will see if I can do some data logging and reduce some values based on rpm and trans temp. Temp, torque, and rpm seem to be what determines shift pressure.

I'ts similar, a guy in san diego makes them and sells them on ebay
Do you have a link? My plastic non-z71 cracked and broke and is in a dumpster somewhere.

I may grab skid plates for myself getting close to wintertime. The OE GM one for the transfer case and that ebay one for the engine with the louvers.

Side note: I found out why the trans was shifting so hard from 1 to 2 at higher throttle position. The tune had the desired shift time for 1-2 and 2-3 almost bottomed out across the table, so it would basically shift as fast as the valvebody could handle, which didn't play nicely with the shift kit I've got. It also has the base shift pressure table turned up a little bit but that all looked fine to my eye so I left it. I figure the stock shift times + shift kit will keep it shifting smooth but with the slightly higher pressures to keep the slip down. Will see. I turned the WOT shift RPM up, but I need to match that to the wheel speed so it will actually shift right. How I have it set now will probably cause it to shift where it was anyway because of the MPH setting.
