BTW- does anyone else have issue when Fueling up with the gas tank pressure build up trigger the pump to shut off?....I had ever since my rig was new and have always just put up with it and stood there babysitting the pump....just curious if there's a quick fix?[/QUOTE]

^^ not on my tahoe but on other cars trucks it has happened to me, most recently on some pos ford pickup i was driving, i turn the gas nozzle upside down when i fill it, you need to be careful though because sometimes it doesn't automatically click off and obviously you get a splashback of gas. It works for me instead of 'babysitting'....

Crazy that they are the same year trucks and my undercarriage looks worse than your '06......all the wax dip on my frame rails is coming off in large pieces.....

I have this issue on my tahoe. There is some kind of pressure release vent that stops working and has to be replaced. I need to figure out how to fix it.

I don't insert the nozzle all the way in when I fill up. I put it in just far enough to keep from spilling but out enough to vent through the hole around the nozzle.

That's what I do now too but I actually want to fix the issue so I don't have to worry about it

Resonators basically eliminate the drone at certain speeds/rpms so it doesn't make a huge difference under all driving conditions but it does under certain driving conditions. My 2 cents but believe what you want.... Lol

Yup mine just started to do this but not every time. It happened to my 05 a few times cause of the off roading and the evap solenoid geting full if dust. So it may be that getting clogged on the nnbs also.. my guess

You'll be hard-pressed to notice a difference. Borrow a hack saw or sawz-all if you don't have one and it won't cost you a thing. You can get the SLP delete kit later or have a muffler shop weld on a pipe and tip for about the same or lesser cost.

Yea itd definitely be cheaper with a pipe and tip but the slp does look really good minus the chrome( ill paint haha)

If you don't want the polished stainless then don't pay for it. Get a black dual outlet tip off eBay and have a muffler shop weld it on. Chances are that they have a bent piece of 2.75"-3" pipe in their scrap pile. I have about $30 invested into mine and it's pretty much the same except it's welded on where the SLP clamps on. Actually, I prefer the swept-back angle and outlet location of mine over the SLP, but that's subjective. Just sayin, it's such a cheap and easy mod that we don't wanna hear lame excuses about having to first recover from other mods.

And it'll be a one-off custom. That's gotta be worth some points, right?

It's a passenger side tip off of a Pontiac G8 GT. I picked up a left and right side set from a guy on craigslist for $20. About 2 years before that, I bought a set from the same guy and used the passenger side one on my S10. So, this is kind of a nod back to that.

The gaps around the tops of tips are actually even. The reflection of the black plastic blends in with the gaps, making them look bigger/uneven. Just had to throw that in there cuz I'm OCD sometimes.

Also, I have two driver's side outlets left over that could be made the same as the passenger side by swapping the two tips around. I may cut 'em off and swap 'em one day when I don't have anything better to do.
