Well, maybe try to make a spreader tool, just depends on what you have handy
the steel is not hard but you don't want to mess it up so it won't align
you could try a piece of wood and stick a wedge in the center and smack it with a mallet, I don't know there are lots of different ways
On other vehicles, I've made a spreader with an appropriately-sized bolt with a nut run all the way up and a washer below the nut (i.e. away from the bolt head), installed that between the flanges, and then turned the nut away from the bolt head, thus pushing the flanges apart. Get a bolt with the highest TPI (threads per inch) you can and use grease between the nut and washer and it doesn't take much effort.

ya that was initial thought as long as the bolt/nut/washer are good enough grade metal

Did an oil change and swapped spark plugs.
Original plugs were 41-110, those have been discontinued.
Plugs 41-162 went in.
To make the passenger rear easier on my my geriatric self, I removed the right front wheel and went through the wheel well.
I also took the time to properly use dielectric grease on every last plug wire on both ends.
I'll tell you, having those plug wire pliers sure made removing the old ones much easier.

Haven't taken it for a test drive but it sure idles much better now.

Old plugs.
It was more than time.

Replaced the driver side low beam bulb in 18 degree weather tonight in the driveway. I am beat to hell and so are my fingers.

This is after a 10 hour day at work when I finally got home around 7:30 tonight.

It's ridiculous how difficult it is to replace headlight bulbs on these trucks.
Your fingers had to be freezing.

4 LB Persuader
5lb wouldn't do it!

Started again in the morning when I could see, Good thing the bushing material softens the blow, or you could really damage the hole.
I hammered the bolt with a nut on the end, it didn't do much.. But I eventually got the arms in.
If ever I struggle with it again, I will make a spreader. I don't like hammering on it, and it takes a bit to move it.

Both lower front mounts were tight, possibly moog was a little narrower and the hole really deforms. Bolts still fit tight, thank god!

On another note, the SKF xtracker hubs lasted less than 20k miles before one developed some play. Was pretty minimal, and both hubs still relatively smooth.
Though they didn't feel as smooth as the Timken, even when they were new. Both were made in iljin korea.
Here's a cutaway of the SKF xtracker... Looks like the ball bearings can be loaded in a couple directions.. might cause some scrubbing or something..
I can't say I noticed any improvement using the SKF xtracker vs OEM, and they seemed to groan when cornering from the beginning. Not a fan.

That's funny, my LCAs were too wide to easily fit into their two mounts, and I had to whack that b@stard with a 4lb. thumb-detector quite a bit to get it back in.

I had my thumb out of the way!

BUT my fingers where wrapped above the control arm and got sandwiched between the frame and control arm.

I thought 'Gee you could lose a finger if you're not careful'

Then I proceeded to do it again...:emotions122:

My SKF Xtracker hubs lasted almost 5 years before starting to make noise. I had them replaced through Rock Auto just before the 5 yr warranty ran out.

If these somehow manage to make it past the 5yr warranty this time then I will probably go back to GM OEM hubs when they finally crap the bed.

Thats a hell of a snow removing tool - kinda impractical however a lot more fun than any other blower on the market! :)
Luckily the gravel surface is frozen cøck-stiff, otherwise I'd be reeeeelly scared about launching shrapnel through an expensive piece of glass along the front of the house.
