I went out to start the Ole girl and I ended up having to break out the lithium jump pack. I haven't been driving it much since I got this job with a company vehicle now. My wife thinks I should sell it, but I KNOW I won't get anything close to the the money I have put into it over the past few years. Plus with the paint fading now on the hood and drivers side, I would be lucky to get $2500 for it. Id rather let it sit and keep it as a spare vehicle.
DO. - NOT - SELL - IT. Get a trickle charger.

Yeah I put new boots on it. I try and reuse oem axles as much as possible. Rockauto has inner and outer boot kits. You get the boot, clamps and grease.
How hard are the boots--and the process for the install? Last time I dealt with just replacing the boots was years ago. They were garbage back then and a huge pita.

Went to severed in the southwest today. Didn’t enter the truck, too lazy to wash it. Decent turnout, considering the last show I went to was Dino’s git down.

Today I changed my oil. For the first time ever, yesterday I got the “oil level low” message. The oil life monitor said it had about 5% life remaining. Total miles on the oil were about 5,700. I only drained a little over 4 quarts. I’ve ordered the Dorman upgraded design driver side valve cover to hopefully reduce oil consumption through the PCV valve/baffle.

Edited to add: oh, and yesterday marked the 20th anniversary of my purchase of the truck!

Changed out battery, completely dead from the cold and never starting it. It's been sitting for awhile now, also finally installed the driver ac actuator. Need to change out the alignment pins on both sides, get 2 new tires for front and alignment.
