What's your opinion of that Cam? Think it's still good Dan?

Hard to tell I can't zoom in very close but I don't see anything obviously wrong with it. Was your BTR cam ok? IDK if those 6.0 cams are worth much but certainly doesn't hurt to keep.

Also one good thing about an 03 Escalade motor is that it should be an LQ9 so a tad more compression.

If it's good I'd just give it away.

I can’t see anything that stands out on that cam to say it’s garbage either. If no visible flaking or pits, next step is set it on some v-blocks and run a dial indicator on each lobe to check for wear. A lot of ******** for a stock cam if you ask me. Btw, aren’t stock cams garbage to begin with? Who wants to replace a cam with a stock stick, yet alone a used stock stick. Toss it.

So the valve appears to be a clean break. Seems like the piston hit on first rotation of the crank. Any other pistons look like they hit their valves? Almost like cam is too big for that motor. I guess my question is, your put a BTR cam in this right? And the engine is an 03 escalade 6.0? The LQ9 is a higher compression engine which would explain this. I guess I could go back and look to get my answers but I’m lazy so please enlighten me.

I can also assume you didn’t beat him with the cam? Or is that why your asking if it looks hurt? Lol. I can only speculate that since you were there long enough to take pics of damage and the Hoe on the lift, that things went well with your talk. I hope so.

I just thought someone would've liked the stock cam--no biggie.
This current motor came out of an 03 Silverado--but all the 03 parts I bought don't fit, only 02 parts fit. I'm thinking it came from a very early 03--which most likely used a left over 02 motor. It's an LQ4.Screenshot_20200522-202633_Gallery.jpg
It did go well with him. We talked about 20 mins. I reminded him that he's had it for 4 months and I don't want to be put on the back burner again.
This BTR cam us the exact same spec'd cam that was in my old motor, and it was AMAZING lol!

EDIT--I just realized there's 666 in the motor's vin! Found the issue lol
