2007 Tahoe has 100,000 and I have had it since 94,000, You hear horror stories that after changing the transmission fails. Not sure what to do. It works fine now.

My advise is if its working fine leave it alone because i made that mistake and
one of those horrer storys happened to me recently my tranny went from a once and a blue moon minor slip to all the time slip but i lucked out and obtained a used to 4l60e tranny that im just about finished rebuilding

Read the manual. My manual said to change it at 100K. 50K if it's a taxi or police car.

I can't believe people would suggest not changing any oil in a mid miles car.

"If it ain't broke don't fix it" isn't supposed to apply to preventative maintenance.

The horror stories I've read about were when they flushed the transmission.

yeah my tranny didnt completely shit the bed after changing the fluid
before i changed it i had a noticable slip on take off every so often then after i changed it i that slip is noticably worse and it happens at least once every time i drive it and it seems like theres more of a hesitation when it shifts. My guess is my clutches are worn out

Do not do any kind of flush. Just filter and pan fluid. Been wanting to do mine for some time also.

About to do mine.

156,*** miles and no idea if anyone has changed it before. The fluid is beautiful though, so I'll guess that it may have been.

I'm just dropping the pan and changing the filter though. I should put my servos in there while I'm under it.

I wouldn't do it. Never change trans fluid in any of my rides unless they are manual trans and I'm doing clutch or trans work

Same for me. I did a pan drop, changed the filter, and replaced the 6 quarts at 120,000mi. The fluid was brown, but didn't smell burnt at all. We have put about 5,000 miles on it since with no problems, and the fluid is now red.

I am glad that I changed it.
