All you need to do is break the bead to change the sensor, the tire doesn't have to be dismounted. @iamdub showed an easy method a while back using a scissor jack and the trailer hitch to open 'er up.

Scissor jacks actually DO have much better purposes than jacking up a car! I get mine as needed from the side of the highway where disgruntled people dispose of theirs after using it to install their spare tire. Besides a bead breaker, they're great for making easy minute adjustments, such as when aligning a trans bellhousing to an engine.
