@UsualSuspect if your story is correct, and you have the track record of ordering that many vehicles at a time, I bet the dealer pushed your order to the front of the line with hopes of you following thru to take some of the pickups off the lot. Since GM is heavily overstocked on pickups and stopped production on them due to the lack of demand currently. Dealer will gladly make somebody else keep waiting if they see a potential 10+ truck order to come with a SUV order.

Diesels are still are to come by. And as of a month ago, I was told max trailer wasn't coming off constraint til end of April from the dealer i placed an order with in August 21 for a diesel.
I have a feeling they want the business back they lost, and they have a large stock of trucks just sitting. Mine is a diesel, and shows the RPO NHT on the WorkBench sheet, which is Max Trailer, so it must be off constraint. I had to delete the all weather mats, they are on constraint, so no special favors for anything on constraint.
I haven't told the misses yet, I am going to surprise her, will be worth a couple of honey does off the list for a month or so. Now to see if they actually build it, or if it gets pushed out.

GM needs to go back to the drawing board with their 1/2 ton pickup. 24 gallon gas tank means it's not a serious contender for any light duty but long distance towing.

If they can't get it right, they should just allocate that production capacity towards stuff they can get right (Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon, etc.)

Build Details:
Order Type: Retail Sold (Ive seen a few threads how dealers order customer vehicles in the OderWorkbench system so FWIW)
2023 Yukon XL
Drive Type: 4WD
Trim: Denali
Engine: 3.0L Duramax Turbo Diesel
Color: Sterling Metallic
Interior Color: Jet Black
Packages: Max Trailering Package (I had to remove this from the build as the dealership told me it was the only thing currently on constraint and holding GM up from accepting the order)
Exterior Options: Power-retractable assist steps, Adaptive Air Ride Suspension (had to remove AARS as the Max Trailering Package is required for AARS), 22" Wheels - Multi-Spoke High Gloss Black
Interior Options: Power-release second row 60/40 split-folding bench seat, Panoramic Sunroof

Timeline:
1-6-2023: Order and deposit placed with the dealership
2-9-2023: Order officialy accepted by GM (Event Code 2000)
2-15-2023: Order accepted by production control (Event Code 3000)
2-20-2023: Order Broadcast for Production - Loaded on Assembly Plant Computer (Event Code 3400) - Target Production Week of 2/27/2023!
3-6-2023: Intermediate Delivery (Event Code 4300)!
3-22-2023: Delivered to Dealership and PICKED IT UP!

Most saw from the pictures yesterday but she finally came in yesterday and I picked her up. I think it looks awesome with the black wheels and emblems on the Sterling Metallic Grey. The timeline of 6 weeks from GM accepting the order to it being delivered was not very long compared to what I was expecting.

Wow that's awesome. I have a 3.0 denali reserve order in as well. Time to go bother my dealer today. Thanks!
Heard back from dealer today. Tech packages and max tow are showing as off constraint finally however they don't currently have an allocation for an XL with a 3.0. Saying potential 4/13 time frame.

New to the forum and first post.

Put a deposit down on a 2023 Tahoe z71 w/ Luxury package 12/5/22. It was a dealer stock order and got lucky because it was exactly what I had been looking for with color and trim.

Order accepted by GM 3/2

TPW 3/27

I'm in Memphis, TN so hoping for a quicker than normal rail delivery. Fingers crossed.

Based on your username I'm assuming you're in ATL. Very positive to see the delivery only took two weeks!

It's almost 3 PM, just called and told the TPW is 4/10/2023. See if that holds true or if it slides a week or two. Am I the only wondering what changed at GM to move production along and cut the backlog?
Lack of demand! Have you seen dealer lots now, pickups everywhere...so much so that GM idled one truck plant for 2 weeks...Interest rates up, layoffs happening...people not buying (yes, the full size SUV's are still in demand). Supply chain improving because trucks and the SUV's share a bunch of common modules and parts (engines, transmissions, etc)

Some trucks are being offered under MSRP or GM Financial offering 2.99% with deferred payments for the first 90 days. Chevy dealer I'm buying from has 46 trucks, 2 suburban's and zero Tahoe's (mine will be their next one in Transit). Crazy

Apologies for length, but I feel like more detail is better. I found this forum very helpful when it came to understanding the ordering process, the delivery experiences of members and any tips or updates that helped make me feel like I wasn't on an island and there were others going through the same frustrations with no more knowledge than I had.

I ordered a Denali from a local dealer here in Dallas at the end of May 2022. This dealer is very well known in the area and has a reputation for not messing customers around or making the purchase process any more painful than it already is. Pricing is always transparent and during the pandemic they did not charge anything over MSRP and required no deposits to place an order. Those two items, as it turns out, are both hugely positive and also a negative. You were able to order what you wanted, and knew what the price would be and that it would be MSRP. The problem was that the lack of deposits and favorable pricing led to them having a wait list longer than was really manageable.

<snip>

My order in Dallas is likely from the same dealer. They're really easy to deal with, but I think the staff is a bit overwhelmed by the length of the list to be honest. They're very nice and helpful, but don't seem to have any better info than we do on allocations/production/etc.

Originally ordered in April 2022 as a 22, has since rolled to a 23 with no end in sight. Only options are sunroof and 22" wheels. At this point, pretty much hoping it rolls over to a 2024.

GM really needs to consider reallocating production capacity to the 2024 full size SUVs.

Alright, ordered 23 z71 Tahoe last week. Been a tundra guy for 10 years but want an SUV.

Options:
Max trailer, luxury, advanced suspension or whatever it is called. No sunroof.

Smaller dealer. MSRP AND $1k down. Won’t tell me how far down the list I am. I’m dealing with them since they didn’t call me 5 thousand times, e-mail blast me, or google me and call me at work after my inquiry unlike the other dealers.

How likely am I to ever receive this thing? Did I hit any constraints? The stuff on injectors is scaring me. New to forum so sorry if not in the right discussion.

if a new GM truck buyer isn't paying $4-5k under MSRP, they're paying too much. Sure you're local hometown dealer that has 8-10 trucks may not be that aggressive, but there are more deals out there than dealers still trying to stick to MSRP

I have a few orders locally and around the country. One of them just called me and said there’s a constraint on 2nd row buckets. Anyone hear something like this?

I just walked in the door and the awesome Fleet Manager who orders most everything for us informed me mine went to 3000 also. The TPW I was given is 04/10, but she said don't be surprised if it is built next week. We will see.
