2024 Tahoe Build Journey

Hey all,

Figured I would start a thread in regard to our Tahoe build journey.

11/28/2023 - I contacted 4 dealers "within" my are, meaning within a 3 hour radius, to see if they had any allocations. => Where getting allocations by 12/11/2023.
11/29/2023 - Placed a 100% refundable deposit with Dealer "A" who stated by 12/11/2023 they would have an allocation, still was waiting on dealer "B" to hear back if they also would get one.
12/05/2023 - Dealer "B" notifies me that they received an allocation, and my order has been submitted to GM. (No deposit was required by this dealer)
12/05/2023 - Dealer "B" provides me with GM Vehicle Order Number
12/11/2023 - I check with GM Website with my Order Number and status is "Your vehicle order has been accepted by General Motors and is moving toward the production process."
01/05/2024 - Dealer "B" notifies me of Event Code 3000.
01/05/2024 - Canceling Order with Dealer "A" as they finally got back to me, but they are still at Event Code 1100.

So that's where we are so far.

My wife had finally decided what she wanted, so we are ordering a 2024 Tahoe Premier, Dark Ash Metallic, Jet Black / Maple Sugar interior with the 3.0 Diesel.

I'll keep you all posted with timeline on how things go.

Hi Cedric! Sounds like a story I’m familiar with. I was able to order a 2024 RST on 29 September after 3 months waiting for the allocation. No money down. Long story short, the build date was pushed back three times and is currently slated for assembly the first week in January. The order was in code 3000 status forever it’s currently at 3400. There’s no rushing them that’s for sure but I’m thinking it may finally be happening, I’ll let you know. Good Luck!

Great choices! I was torn with the maple vs the black. But i think both colors are great. I was scared black was going to be too much but Im happy

Yeah my wife and I are just so tired of all the Black on Black interiors on all the vehicles. Plus living in Colorado with all the sun black does get toasty Bad enough she wanted a dark color vehicle.

01/29/2024 - Received confirmation that the vehicle has been produced and received a copy of the window sticker. Now just waiting for an ETA on shipping.

02/01/2024 - Dealership called, Tahoe just rolled off the truck

So from reaching out to dealers and placing an order and the truck arriving at the dealership, 2 months. I'll update you guys once we go pick it up as it's 2 hours way from us.

Did you get your deposit back? I cancelled an order with Vance in Oklahoma… they straight armed me on ANY discounts.. I should not have put a nickel down it… I know.. with a check.

they won’t get any more business from me… ended up buying one from landers.. $4k off.. very happy. A 5.3 though…

Yes I got it back again. I had paid it with the credit card just in case they would act up when trying to give it back then I would just have the credit card company do it.

I got our Tahoe at MSRP but of course it's exactly as we had wanted. We finally got it home yesterday so I got to get some pictures as soon as we take it out once. Since it's my wife's Tahoe I won't be able to drive it much anyway hehe

norman Ok. List 70k paid 66.1k. They had two below list… just internet price.
