I originally ordered a 22 Denali in November of 2021. It turned into a 23, then told last November by the Dealer there was no ETA on when it would be built. I walked away and went out and bought a Lexus LX600. Also had issues getting pickups for the business since 2021. I had to buy from Ford and Ram due to lack of supply from GM.
For my business, I buy around 75-100 pickups a year, and prior to 2021, had always bought GMC's. There are very few GMC's left in the fleet today. The field folks are not fond of what I have been buying, and they have mentioned how they missed the old trucks. Truth is, had to buy what we could get out hands on, we usually turn a truck over every 3, maybe 4 years. I usually buy the wife a new Denali every other year. She is driving the Lexus, or "The box" as she calls it.
This morning I receive a call from the GMC Dealer I used to deal with. I guess not getting any orders for 2 years made them miss me lol. Apparently the old Fleet Sales guy was no longer with them, and they would like rekindle the business relationship.
Knowing how much my wife hates the Lexus, I asked about the Yukon I had ordered. They said it was cancelled, but they could get one now in 6-7 weeks. I was leaning towards the Ultimate, until I remember the wife commenting on the color of the leather, she is not a fan of it. I ordered her a Denali, told them they had 8 weeks to deliver it, then we would talk about trucks for 24. I can tell she doesn't like the Lexus, she mentions how she misses her Yukon. This is the first time in 15 plus years she has not had a Yukon in the garage. I was thinking of waiting for a 24, but with all the new electronics, I will wait a year and let everyone else work the bugs out for the 25's.
If anyone wants to know, the only constraint was the GM All Weather Floor Mats. Now to see if actually shows up.
What packages did you get on your Denali? Max tow and Advanced tech showed off constraint? Keep us posted if/when GM picks up your order.

Just curious what your business is? I cant imagine the amount of capital in trucks every year. Payroll still has to be your highest expense, followed by insurance/health insurance - correct? $4,500,000 every year in trucks is a hell of a business.

As of this morning the status is 2000, "Your vehicle order has been accepted by General Motors and is moving toward the production process". I ordered the 3.0 Duramax, the Denali Reserve Package and the Interior Protection Package. I was told the only thing on constraint is the Interior Protection Package, everything else was available for the build.

I do a number of things. One we supply pumps for natural gas, oil, gasoline, water, and wells. If it's liquid, we likely have touched the parts at some point. I also have a number of Government Contracts where we maintain their distribution systems at airports, across regions, etc.
I also own a fabrication business for aerospace parts, mainly military, some civilian applications, and provide on-site servicing and training. I am always doing something.

We had an Escalade a few years ago, it was nice, but just didn't fit us. We still live in the house we bought 22 years ago, 2 story tract house, I was working for my Dad at the time, and we could barely afford it back then. We both still like the house, still hang out with our neighbors, like the neighborhood. We both like some creature comforts, but always wonder if we bought that mansion, what would we do with it? It's too much room for us, probably why she has always liked her Denali, has creature comforts, but fits in where we live and works for her. I tried to get her into the Ultimate Denali, but she doesn't like the seat color lol.

It's almost 3 PM, just called and told the TPW is 4/10/2023. See if that holds true or if it slides a week or two. Am I the only wondering what changed at GM to move production along and cut the backlog?

Supply chain improvements, lack of demand, and they cleared the half million units they had sitting around built short of parts. All energy is focused on production now.

@UsualSuspect if your story is correct, and you have the track record of ordering that many vehicles at a time, I bet the dealer pushed your order to the front of the line with hopes of you following thru to take some of the pickups off the lot. Since GM is heavily overstocked on pickups and stopped production on them due to the lack of demand currently. Dealer will gladly make somebody else keep waiting if they see a potential 10+ truck order to come with a SUV order.

Diesels are still are to come by. And as of a month ago, I was told max trailer wasn't coming off constraint til end of April from the dealer i placed an order with in August 21 for a diesel.
