Well today is the big day. Dude is supposed to have my tahoe done today.

I really hate when they do that. I could understand a legitimate reason, but usually it's just bs. Kind of tells you what kind of businessman they are, usually $hitty. Have you been happy with him up to this point?

From where the motor had been sitting for 4 years it developed light surface rust in the internals and the cylinder walls. He is taking his time to flex hone the rust out and polish the internals to remove rust.

Of course he also needed to order a gasket kit when I have 2 brand new mahle/victornŕgasket sets in my back seat which I told him they were there.

Well gentlemen I am happy to report the Tahoe is alive. The dude that put the motor in drove it down from the mountain where he lives into town to get a new oil pressure sending unit as it still wasn't reading right. He said it runs good.

He's gonna drop it off at a shop in the valley and he's gonna drive it a day or so just to make sure there were no kinks in it. I should hopefully have it back by Thursday

After 4 long months

One more set back. I reckon the fuel pump would not hold pressure so he is replacing that with a new one. So we shall see what happens.

Now hopefully the 2000 some odd k Trans doesn't give up on me.

I don't think they have the capability to tune the ecm. They say it needs a new computer.

So i discussed things with my mechanic.

1. Order a new motor with like 5 year warranty and replace it. (If the ecm is bad though then this wouldn't work anyways
.2. Buy a new computer and have it installed and tune. (I think would be the cheapest way to go labor wise).
3. Scrap the whole piece of whale

What does that mean? Is it a 5 year warranty or LIKE a 5 year warranty? C'mon man!

Apparently my dad must have been drunk or misunderstood cuz i called dude today and he said it needed a tune and I said I'm aware of that and he said well I can't tune it. So, I either gotta let him find someone to tune it or I gotta go get it and bring it back here and have it tuned. I'm thinking about having it tuned here.

I tried to tell them all this (my dad and his mechanic) before but no one listened.

I sent the build paperwork along with it.

They got all the rust out of the motor and said it cleaned up super nice. I told them while it was out to take out the stage 3 btr cam and put in a truck Norris or stage 1 cam. They didn't do that either.

Since it's going to be a daily driver I'd rather have a little more economy.
