Picked up this ‘04 Tahoe last week. LT, Sunroof, Captains Chairs, and the very rare AWD system.

Picked it up with 182k on the clock locally, two-owner truck previously. Currently lifted up about 2.5” on cranked keys and a rear spacer, along with 295/70/R16 Cooper Discover AT3 XLT tires and 2” wheel spacers. Also has a non-functioning CB radio, aftermarket CarPlay Headunit, and a bucketload of maintenance receipts.

Currently the only problem it has is a check engine light. The seller claimed it was an O2 sensor that required replacement, haven’t looked into it yet. Doesn’t seem to cause any problem with the drive ability yet.

That’s all I can think of for this first post. Will start posting mods and pictures soon! Thanks all!

Modifications/Repairs

Planned:
Heated Seat/Memory Seat Switch
Trailer Brake Controller

Completed:
LED Low and High Beams
LED Reverse Lights

Welcome from Texas! Where’s the pics..? How many miles? I’d get at least a cheap scanner on that OBDII port, to verify the code.

Welcome to the forum from Oregon. Yes, pics. I would get the code pulled asap because if is an oxygen sensor, that could contribute to damage of the catalytic converters.

Finally getting this thread started. Had intentions of starting this a long time ago, but life got in the way.

Shortly after purchase, I added LED headlight bulbs, fog lights, reverse bulbs, puddle lamps, and interior lights. Also swapped from the depo-style projectors to aftermarket reflector housings. Beyond that, the first six months of ownership I mostly left it alone.

Here are some pics from when I first bought it, December of 2022.

This past weekend, I swapped the wheel and tire combo. Due to a poor alignment, the front tires were basically bald on the outer half, so it was time. Decided to move from 16" to 20" wheels in preparation for a GMT900 or K2XX brake upgrade down the line. Went with XD820 Wheels and LT285/60/R20 Falken Wildpeak AT3W tires. I've heard good things about the tires, plus a combination of a good tread life warranty and lower cost than typical options like the BFG K02 or Toyo Open Country. Hopefully they serve me well. Kept the overall diameter and tire width roughly similar, with a higher offset to tuck the tires more, but left the spacers on.
