Street scene vent covers - side effects?

I couldn't get them to fit right. Did you have any luck?

What didn't fit right? When I was looking into these vs the esky ones, I've read the smooth caps will have a gap near the top and won't sit flush. Esky ones don't fit perfect at the top either, cause it's designed to be used with the esky 3rd light.

When test fitting the top sticks up about 1/2 an inch to 3/4 and if you push it snug the button pops outward! Very disappointed.
