In short, im contemplating selling my 03 yukon xl (105k), runs and drives great and literally zero issues in last four years for a 07 denali xl (have not found one yet). Im just itching for more bells and whistles.
My main worry is selling a reliable vehicle for one that may not.
Has anyone been in this position before? Looking for opinions as well. Thanks!

IMO, I think the NBS trucks is one of the best body styles, so I'd keep it and update it. 105k miles isn't much either if it's been maintained well too. I still have my 2001 Silverado LT 4x4 with 270k miles and it's all original stuff, even though I just bought a 2016 Yukon XL. I just update little things here and there to keep it fresh.

If I had an 03 with only 105 on it and it wasn't giving me any problems I'd just keep driving it and possibly update it. Not worth the risk of buying something else that's used that you don't know the true history on.

As others have said. I'd keep the Yukon as well. You know the history of it and its got a lot of life left in it at that mileage. It will be hard to find a under 100k miles 2007 or better a 2009 Denali, depending on your budget. If your truck is looking old maybe a new paint job and some other upgrades will help out.

Pull the trigger on a 6.2, 6sp and dont look back...I have had an 04 Z71, 07 LTZ, and now a Denali. Denali is the best so far. However, none of them had any issues. Go test drive one, I bet almost anything you go home with it.

Same position but different years
I have been offered 03 suburban for my 99 Yukon in the same price yet my Yukon is super clean so I kept it and I advice to keep yours also and give it a nice Matt paint job
The final result will make you forgot the idea of selling it

If only moving up to an '07, i'd keep the '03.

Personally i dont think i would swap my '05 for anything not new right now.

I've got an '06 with only 73K and no payments. Mods and maintenance are the only expenses. I drive a 2015 Suburban for work. Super plush, but love my NBS hands down.

Thanks guys really appreciate all replies/opinions. I was hoping the denali would fall into the majority but wow did it fall short :). Its not that i want to get ride of the 03 bc it needs paint or updating...its just dated. And its so mechanically sound that it would be an ideal time to sell for my concious. However u guys are right about keepn the 03. Heck of alot cheaper on wallet and trading reliability for the unknown isnt an ideal decision. I actually love my 03 and it just amazes me how well built it is. Unfortunately from what i hearing and reading is that quality didnt necessarily follow to the newer model. Anyway thanks again for insite. I'll let ya know how things turn out.

I bought a 2007 LT Tahoe last year and I like it but don't love it just yet (maybe some mods will help). I see a lot of NBS Tahoes around and I'm kinda torn because I sometimes think I like that body style better, stock or modded. When I first started looking for a Tahoe one of the first ones I found online was a 2006 fully loaded Tahoe in a dark blue. It only had 50k or 60k miles on it, very nice clean condition from the pictures. I forget the price but I think I believe it was around $10k. I didn't call about it until a few days after I saw it. The Chevy dealer said they just got it and it sold in two days.

Post some pics of your Tahoe.

Only reason to step up to nnbs is if your gonna go 6.2, 6 speed.
(Cause who doesn't love more power=)
My 03 escalade never saw an easy day in its life after 100k mi (when I got it, and it was bone stock) I towed, modded and held to the floor daily and repeatedly to 188k, only prob was knock sensors (prob from me washing engine)....... and ac comprossor. That's it.
Now the 09......mechanically it's great, but it feels cheaper/lighter well.... because it is. The electronics in the seats door latches are junk, period. And the door handles, oh those door handles inside chrome may peel and slice finger like razor ,ask me how i know- and few things are better than taking it to the car wash, and they walk up to you with one of the exterior handles in their hand! (So let's see.....that makes 3 broken handles!)

Gotchya. I actually dont mind the 5.3 4 speed at all. To me never feels like its struggling w family in it. So maybe theres one of my answers too.
I am intrigued by the 2nd row captains as accessing 3rd row without is a pain when ya have baby seats.

I owned an 04 Z71 Tahoe, it was nice.
Owned an 07 LTZ tahoe, it was nice.
Have an 07 Denali now and will never go back to a Tahoe. The both 07s had quad buckets and 3rd row. That set up ia great for familys with little ones. We had 2 kids in car seats (still do) and went to quad buckets when #2 was born. The power with the 6.2 is just that much better. On the flip side, I still love the 04 body style and no payments would be nice.

Everyone surely helped me out. Ive decided to keep the 03. No payments and great reliability is something i dnt want to take for granted. I will however try and figure out how i can replace 2nd row bench w captain chairs. Besides that i still do love her

Glad to see you are sticking with the NBS XL for now. Think that's a solid call and looks clean from the pic. :waytogo:

Glad you are keeping that rig Gene-she is in great shape! Swapping a bench for buckets is easy-just hit up CL or a boneyard. Not that I've done it personally cuz' mine had buckets to start with.......

My dad has 340k on his and runs like a top. Good choice on keeping her.
