Have you checked drain petcock to make sure its tight and if is check Oring on petcock.

they deleted the drain on the gmt900's, unless you install a older model compatible radiator there isn't one.

The new replacement OEM GMT 800 radiators don’t have petcocks either, they eliminated them also. I replaced the one in my 02 Yukon Denali a couple years ago and it came without one. My old one had it.

My stock 07 Denali does NOT have a petcock.
I pull my lower radiator hose off to drain it.
Your results may vary?

Youd think seven years later they would implement something like that.... than again half a million in savings haha across all gmt 900 made

I never mess with the petcocks even if they're there. I just pull the lower radiator hose.

Try and get it into a bucket or pan so it can be disposed of properly. Methods may depend on the type of coolant. Search for recommendations in your area. https://www.autozone.com/diy/antifreeze-coolant/what-to-know-about-disposing-antifreeze

Ethylene Glycol is poisonous so anything splashed on the ground should be absorbed or diluted enough to not harm animals that might be inclined to lap it up. Had a friend's dogs get into some antifreeze in his garage and both dogs died from drinking it.

Fluid should be captured if dog or other animal drink they will die.
Need to check in your area who will recycle anti-freeze.

I was introduced to this problem in my younger days in 60s had a vehicle that I drag raced and one Saturday night at race had engine drop valve so about midnight in a friends garage we tore engine down and in this antifreeze drained in to pan on floor and when problem was found called it a night but in the garage my friend keep his dog needless to say next morning his dog had died still remember this every time when working with antifreeze. So, believe what you want this thread I'm out.

I bought one from Amazon forgot the price and used it when I changed the radiator on my mom's expedition. It worked great. No spills and no mess at all.

I’ve always just used a funnel without any issues. Refill is through the overflow tank which has good access.

As far as antifreeze and pets, a bittering agent has been added to antifreeze since about 2012 to make it taste terrible so pets don’t drink it. A taste or three by licking your finger won’t kill a human either, you’d need to drink a small amount. You can try it to see what I mean if you feel brave- it now tastes terrible. Normal glycol is sweet and it used to actually attract animals because it tasted so sweet. There are laws in the US that forced the mfrs to add bittering. I do not take chances though and dispose of as much as I can and the rest that hits the ground I use a hose and make sure to use lots of water to dilute it as it washes away, just in case.

the big hoses generally last a really long time, if it looks boated like a boa constrictor that ate a goat then maybe it's not in great shape, that's really the only way to tell if it might be wearing out. Or if it feels super soft squishy rather than slightly firm

clamps should be fine, they seem to last forever in most cases I think one broke on me in my entire life while messing around with it

ok and lastly... i imagine using a video for a 2007-2014 silverado is ok yea? any major diffrences? i like watching trq becasue they get right to the point... 10 minute video as opposed to 30 min to an hour one
