Just curious what you guys think of this coolant level. Has dropped from full since feb 2023 when I got it.

Have not don’t anything to radiator system was planning on getting a flush at valvoline. No over heating drives fine. I do smell a toasty smell under the hood sometimes and when close to engine bay. No leaking under car. Truck also has to deal with the harsh cold winter as well

Smelling a burned smell under hood?

Oil level good, coolant level is maybe an inch at most under the fill line and that’s after a year if not more of this coolant. Not over heating and not stalling or anything. Doesn’t smell electric or like oil either. Here’s a video of my engine bay. nothing appears out of the ordinary

Anyone coolant gauge ever do this? Am I being picky?

Am I being too picky? I’ve seen this in other vehicles and they were fine. Does it mean anything ? I feel like usually it is spot on.

Hissing noise near coolant reservoir after shutting car off?

It was hot out today and I was running errands and the car was hissing near this area when I shit the car off and opened the hood. The coolant gauge reads normal all day no overheating to my knowledge

    Coolant Reservoir Level Sensor

The past couple days I've been getting a low coolant message when I start my '03 Tahoe. The level in the reservoir is good and temp has been normal. Assuming the sensor is going bad. My question is, can the sensor be replaced or is it molded into the reservoir? I searched online for the sensor...

Can't Find Leak, Only Smell It!

We can smell hot coolant on the '05 Yukon when we get out but I'll be darned if I can find any evidence of a leak. The overflow bottle doesn't even appear to drop in level. Can't smell it inside so that kinda rules out the heater core I guess. Kinda like going to the Dr and then it doesn't hurt...

[Solved] 2000 Yukon XL high operating temp

Solved -- Mix of bad thermostat, air in the cooling system, and a leaking top radiator hose at the water pump side. Reseated the hose and tightened the clamp, replaced thermostat, bled the system for an hour, and truck hasn't gone above 214°F for 4 days as of this edit. Thanks everyone! 2000...

2006 Tahoe Cooling system running to cool. 5.3L Flex

I got a 2006 Tahoe 5.3L flex that needed an engine. found a remanufactured (z code engine) had installed with new water pump, radiator and thermostat ( have replaced 3 times wit factory 178 degree stat). Now the engine runs about 165 to 175 on the road. When idling it will get up to about 210...

    97 Tahoe 5.7 V8 Gross Dirt / Mud / Residue in coolant

I know many people don't like StopLeak as a solution for coolant leaks, but I had a difficult-to-locate leak and in laziness and desperation, I used the product. It seemed to work great at first, the coolant stopped disappearing. I figured the leak was plugged. The engine ran great for a month...

    Where's It Going (coolant)???

2005 XL...adding 1/2" a week. Three garages + the Dealer all say: "I dunno"! No symptoms like rough idle (could balance a nickel on it), loss of MPG (none - gets 22 on the road), smell outside-or-in (none). Did the big 4 Tests multiple times at different garages: Visual look, Pressure test...

    2005 Tahoe coolant flush impossible

Has anyone else found this on their rig? I am going to do a coolant flush and what do you know I have no drain plug or drain hose. The outlet is there and even the loop on the side of the radiator is there for storing the drain hose. WTF. Anyone have any good ideas about how to proceed?
