Most certainly... There are a few versions and some are better than others. I opened my new one up and cleaned up any casting flash left over from production. I know I used a high volume but not the high pressure pump. It can get a bit confusing but you don't need the high pressure spring if you get a high volume pump. I'll find the part # I used and post when I can.@67RS427 did you change your oil pump?
Was talking to gm guy and that what he said too, most guys deleteing dod change the pump from non dodMost certainly... There are a few versions and some are better than others. Well its the volume vs pressure question From what I am hearing 5.3 with dod the pump has enough volume for my SC, researching different years before dod and after, will wait for your finding.Still looking for the # of the one I bought... Found this in my notes:

The DOD pumps are actually "high volume/pressure"... I would however still replace it regardless with a good Melling pump. Well worth the $120 and if yours has 60k miles on it, should replace it anyways. If you spin it over 6k at all, it will help.Well its the volume vs pressure question From what I am hearing 5.3 with dod the pump has enough volume for my SC, researching different years before dod and after, will wait for your finding.
Edit
GM tech checking the difference

my mechanic said there is a missing bolt at the bottom of oil pump, wasn't there today will get some more info tomorrow, but missing bolt WTF GM?
Will find out later, but must be the same one, thank youThats odd, are you sure he isn't talking about where the pickup tube bolts to the Oil Pump? There's an empty bolt hole on the bottom of the oil pump that isn't used...
