Finally installed these tie rod sleeves. They are good but not great...

1. They cover up the adjustment for the inner tie rod. You cannot get a wrench on it to adjust... So I had to use tape and a pipe wrench - not ideal. I imagine the tire shop will be confused when they go to do an alignment.

2. They aren't a tight fit. They have some space between the inner tie rod and the sleeve. Two concerns, you can have some flex (but probably not enough to break rod so serves it's purpose). Second, it will collect dirt, debris, and worst water / moisture in there and rust the threads on the tie rod. I need to put a little bit of caulk around that space to seal it up.

It's definitely better to buy the purpose built heavy duty tie rods. Although, they are WAAAAAAY overpriced.

Thanks for reporting on the sleeves. I’d like to upgrade mine at some point, however the lift installation requires trimming the TRE and a different jam nut so I’ll have to do some due diligence beforehand.

My factory tie rod on driver side finally bit the dust. It had play in it. Was amazed it lived to 250k miles!

I swapped out both tierods and ends. Then reinstalled the sleeves. These sleeves are even better with the moog problem solver tierods. Only concern is, it covers up the spot on the rod to attach a wrench and adjust toe... Previously I got a piece of rubber and vice grips... then clamped onto the rod as I spun it to adjust toe.

Anybody know a better way with these sleeves to adjust toe? I fear the tire shop will never figure it out and or break something...

Note to self: for another $70 I could have done the Rare Parts rods *sigh*. I think I have about $250 into all this.

Pics of new build below:

GM I made an attempt on yesterday to install the kryptonight sleeve and tie rod ends. I could not get the sleeve to fit! I’m looking at your previous post where you said that the sleeve covers the adjustment section of the tie rod. Yeah that would be problematic during the alignment. I’m gonna take another stab at it sometime today. I sent the company a message about the sleeve and possibly returning them. I’ll keep you posted.

I didn't have much issue. It was literally like a long nut. I did however, call their tech support about alignment question. The sleeve covers the provision on the inner tie rod to adjust the alignment. They said was non-issue. I then went to alignment shop to get it aligned and didn't seem to phase them at all. I made mention of the sleeves too.

I kind of wish I'd bought the whole system from them. Including the cross link. I didn't know they sold / made anything additional to tie rod sleeves. However, I have stock suspension although I do a LOT of wheeling off road..

Welp following up on this thread. I destroyed my MevoTech TTX outer tie rod and Moog Problem solver Inner Tie rod. Dropped off at the shop for an alignment after the tires got chewed up and they tell me the passenger side is bad.

I'm going to reach out to Krytonite about heavy duty purpose built tie rods. Rare parts used to also make a set but I cannot find them anymore... anybody else know of heavy duty tie rods still being sold? or maybe a better factory spec tie rod? I've had REALLY bad luck with Moog parts on this build.

I should also check but think it'd be overkill... Has anybody ever broken a factory center link? They sell and upgraded one but it's $$$$$

Bit reluctant to add the center link regardless as it changes interface for inner tie rod (if I break something I cannot go to parts store to fix).
