Rockauto has some listed as forged steel.. But they list the same part other side as cast iron... (mevotech)
Listing for Moog says cast iron, but info page says forged steel. They screwed up the specs somewhere..

Amazon/Walmart says its aluminum.. Summit doesn't specify..

The Delphi and Dorman specs say "casting/forged"
Magnet sticks to both Moog and Delphi, but the Moog looks like finer surface texture.

IF looking at Moog, keep in mind, any chassis part starting with an RK prefix is imported. Parts starting with the CK Prefix were made in the USA. I did see that most CK parts are going away. I hate seeing that. Moog used to set the standard for quality. The Tie Rods I purchased were also the premium Moog made in USA parts but I got them at a discounted price and they said it was a sell out discounted price.

No idea what company will offer us parts we can trust in the future. When I was in the business up to 2012 Mevotech was considered absolute junk but now I read they are considered quality?

mevotech is still junk even there ttx line, I would also have my doubts that the moog is forged steel you should be able to tell the difference by looking at it in person, it's possible but I have my doubts

Well, we are all free to our thoughts but I have worked for the company that owned Moog from 1997 till 2019. Have been to the factory, met the people seen the process. I know how they built in the past. What has changed is the constant infusion of imported parts with zero regulation. Moog had to prove to the OEM's that their part met all expectations. The imports ship a part in to the USA and it is buyer beware. Some work, some are not even close to OEM requirements for safety and no agency is watching.

Even at 2019 we were seeing our Moog sales drop in significant numbers because many buyers bought only on price. Moog price $125, import price $50, customer buys the $50 part and many times pays $150 per hour for the install and then pays for an alignment and receives parts that may not last 20,000 miles and who knows if they are safe. When a ball joint breaks at the stud the car crashes most times.
Moog tried to salvage sales by doing a Me Too, they introduce the RK line which was all imported low price parts to salvage sales to that low price buyer. Was it a good plan for survival? Who knows but if you buy an RK it is not a made in the USA quality Moog part.

Before 2014 at least you could Trust, Moog, Spicer, TRW and many Japanese, German, Italian brands to put out a quality part. Today, I really do not know who has quality? Maybe the dealer? Even AC Delco puts tons of China parts in the box for the aftermarket so who do you trust?

I rebuilt the front end on mine last year about this time, I ordered all new oem parts, had to wait a month for some in order to get them at a reasonable price.
for instance the dealer wanted $1200 (each) for the lower arms and I ordered them for $320 (each)
then I did all the labor and saved a crap ton more........ my back hurt for months lol, literally it finally healed up though
