I just went online and found an overlay cover for like $120. It’s not perfect and the texture doesn’t quite match but it works for me. Better than seeing those ugly cracks.
But they look like overlays. It’s been discussed a lot here. If you’re ok with that, it’s a good option. Also note that you can’t remove the dash anymore in case you need to work on things under there that break or fail without destroying that cover and the dash that it’s glued to. They’re way less expensive but have their drawbacks.

I'd rather see cracks than that ugly overlay cover.

I've been searching for the answer to that for years. Thanks for clarifying. I was going to get the overlay. But this changes things. I'll order a replacement and look into ways to reinforce it.

Also an FYI about part numbers. My Yukon has the center speaker, but has a different part number from both of the ones mentioned earlier. Mine's 23224742 (for Ebony). I'm pretty sure the 23224747 is w/o the speaker.

Also, the exploded diagrams they use on the GM parts websites are generic. As far as I can tell, none of them show the center speaker, whether the part is for one or not.

So anybody who ends up having something shipped FedEx Freight… I called today to see wtf was up with the “emergency-delayed in transit” status in tracking and they said I need to schedule an appointment since it’s a residence. So I did that, for Thursday ( today’s Tuesday). I asked them why they never notified me and they said it’s because they have so much freight that they don’t have time to contact everybody! Hey idiots, maybe if you let people know they need to schedule a delivery, they will and then you can actually deliver some of that freight and you’ll have less.

It's coming FedEx so of course it won't be on time. FedEx is NEVER on time for me. I just checked and sure enough- it says "Shipping exception- emergency- Delay in transit". Whatever that means. i know it won't be delivered today, hopefully they didn't destroy it.
Fed-Ex is delivering your new 3 piece dash. I thought it was a single piece-gotta get that part number which has to be easier to install! :D

The new dash came today. It’s the 23224747. No speaker hole. Here’s pics of the backside of the areas that crack and you can see the reinforcement ribs that I don’t believe are on the original design. I’m going to add plastic epoxy in those areas too. I’ll get pics of the old one for comparison when I swap it out.

Awesome!! Looks right to me so I don't know why I need this other part number (sigh). Would you mind snapping a pic of the front of the dash from end to end, as it will look installed? I want to see if it matches my dash. If so, I'll be changing my order since it is STILL on back order.

My only other thought is perhaps mounting points could be different between the two part numbers?

Im pretty positive the mounting points are the same. If you look up this p/n it will show you applications and I’ll bet your rig is in there. AFAIK the only differences are with or without speaker and color as in Cashmere or Ebony.

It is possible that there are year differences. I found out today when I pulled my dash trim to wrap it that the parts on my 2012 are different from the 2008 I pulled parts from at the junkyard. On the 2008, the trim and right-side vent are one assembly. On my 2012 the right-side vent is separate, with its own hardware. Sorry I don't have a pic. But the extra screw to hold the right-side vent would seem to dictate a different dash cover.

From everything I've been able to research, the 23224747 is an updated part that came out in '12 and replaced the 19331336 which was listed as for the '08-'11's. Here's another thread with more links on this.

So I asked the dealer I've been working with today to change my order to the newer PN and they just emailed me back to say that PN is also now on backorder. Freaking awesome. I can't win for losing here. I'm going to call around and see if other dealers are reporting the same issue or have any on hand.

I don’t know about the dash, but every other plastic part in the twins is marked made in wuflu-land. That’s likely the reason for back orders.

Try emailing GM Parts Now. They still have half off shipping on orders over $299. They will check stock, and they got back to me quick.

Actually that's who had my order so I know they don't have one. I Found one North of me in Lubbock. $659 shipped to me via Fedex truck. I decided to call my local dealership again since they had told me some weeks back that had 1 or 2 of them. They still have 2 of them and the Parts Counter rep was willing to price match with the Lubbock Dealer which is GM Parts Outlet. So I am driving down this afternoon to pick one up for $441. Already canx my order with GMParts Now.
