Does anyone have any information on removing the passenger side dash air bag? I have a B0019-0D code which is the "Passenger Instrument panel air bag deployment loop stage 1 resistance above threshold" and I need to check the air bag plug for damage or corrosion.

***SOLVED*** (thank you to the Chevy Avalanche forum)

Here is the fix for a B0019 OD airbag code (passenger side deployment loop high resistance) on 2007+.

There are two junction connections on the four-wire harness that runs from the SDM (airbag controller under driver seat) to the passenger side airbag (I/P module). One connection is just below the passenger side airbag in the dash, and another is behind the driver side kick panel.

In my case, the connector behind the driver side kick panel had likely a bit of corrosion and there was high resistance that the service airbag message and light would illuminate on the dash. Once I cleaned this connection, the light was gone, and the problem is now fixed.

High resistance in either of these connections will throw the B0019 OD code.

Just wanted to pass this along so others may profit from it as to avoid having the dealership rake one's ass over the coals for such an easy fix and read the attached TSB for additional issues with the Airbag system.

Also, if working on the airbag system MAKE SURE you disable it by either removing the fuses (in my case 40 and 45) or the negative battery terminal.

Need to take the trim/vents off passenger side front dash to reach access holes. Might need to remove glovebox.

To inspect the connector, it is under the airbag with a little pushpin somewhere holding the wire to the crossmember..
Maybe you can reach the connector with just the glovebox out..?
