Our '05 had a Chinese brand oil pressure switch in it for like 5 years and it still worked. But I thought maybe I should change it for a better quality part since we were chasing an oil leak. So I spent the $59 on an AC delco one on 12/31. It lasted 30 days. Got is swapped under warranty for anew one...it lasted 88 days. Total disappointment especially when my $30 knock off one still worked. Really wish I hadn't thrown the chinese one out. Guess I'll get another under warranty and just assume I'll be playing the game again sometime in the next 90 days. LOL

On the bright side, you are really good about changing the oil pressure switch.

Instead of AC Delco, use this: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=8742996&cc=1431156&pt=4588&jsn=959

I recently bought a SRS Impact sensor, a Dorman brand.. And to my surprise, it was a OEM ACDelco in the box.
Hmm, thats odd. Yeah, in our case, I've used AC Delco PN 12677836 twice now. Both have failed within months. I literally took out and threw away a cheap knock off brand that I had purchased at Advanced Auto probably 5 or 6 years ago. I replaced it with this AC Delco one thinking the cheap one would probably be failing at any time so I was being proactive. Ridiculous

Yeah, that's why I have a tough time replacing things that aren't broken. Especially these days since parts are just getting made cheaper and cheaper :(

Sorry to hear this. I had the same exact problem. I was able to finally get a usable part in there (OEM), after the 3rd OEM (and 4th total), part. I have a spare OEM on hand, but who knows if it will be a good or bad part.

Dorman will do that sometimes, like GM they source parts from all over the world and you can on a rare occasion end up with a oem part in a dorman box. I had a source for dorman parts for a while and at first I thought it was kind of strange and thought maybe it was someone swapping parts but they come right from the distributor like that.

You might want to look at the AC Delco Pro line or some-such. That's where they moved the good stuff or, at least guys in my other groups indicate that.

I once forgot to replace the filter sleeve shown here, the OE/Genuine/AC Delco (made in Mexico) part only made it about 3 months. I'd get this one and change out the filter sleeve. Also, clean up the ground strap back there and check connections. Keep meaning to do it. https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=9452316&cc=1425349&pt=4588&jsn=1025
Like @Fless said, the screen is not used on your 2004 Yukon, so it is a real good thing that you "forgot" to install because you would still be trying. Now, I agree that a part that fails after only 3 months sucks but there are differences. A Genuine GM oil sender for your 04 Yukon is this one: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=8742996&cc=1425327&pt=4588&jsn=921. Did you get one with a screen, the wrong application, and "forget" to install the supplied screen or did you get a Genuine GM part and there was no screen and then found out later that maybe you installed the wrong one that came without a screen?

Also, did you install the recommended pig tail #PT1825 when you did the oil pressure switch replacement?

I too have had horrible luck with Oil Pressure Senders on my '05 Yukon. Been through several. Even posted about my last failure 6 mos ago. It seems all across other forums the consensus is the same. There are a lot of counterfeit parts. AC Delco is mfg'd in Mexico and China now so it's got to be very easy to get a counterfeit without knowing it. Especially from Amazon. They don't vet their suppliers and it's too easy to get one from them. I once posed the question, if there's so many counterfeits how does even a reputable supplier control what they get? Pretty sure they don't do independent testing. Think about it.

Counterfeit AC Delco injectors (bought online) cost me a motor. One stuck open, filled cyl 3 with fuel, hydraulic'd the motor.

I've had mixed luck with genuine AC Delco parts as well through reputable suppliers. I'm more inclined to go with other brands now.

Especially when it comes to products on amazon that are fulfilled by amazon.
You can have sellers that list the product, and sell counterfeit items, or you can have customers returning items that are bad or counterfeit and some of those make it back in the good inventory to sell again.
