    How deep in the water?

Don't forget the brakes, wet brakes don't stop very well and the caliper sliding parts will rust in a short time. Been there done that.

Looking for a 2000-2014/New member looking for a Tahoe/Yukon and some good advice for towing!

Don't forget that parking in shopping places Is difficult with the extra length of vehicle, the isles are too narrow in the newer painted lines of the lots. I have the Yukon 1500 and in some lots there is not room without backing twice to get it in the spot, and no room. You will not use the...

Empty the tank with fuel pump

One of my previous UKON-TAHOE had the same obstruction in the filler, after some sleuthing I found out it was there to prevent fuel theft, so much for siphoning, my 2014 does not have that obstruction.

What is this plate on my oil pan???

There are vibrations in flat surfaces that lead to metal fatigue, in turn cause cracks to appear. Theory harks back to my aeronautical engineering study days. Change the mass, change the frequency out of danger range.

What do i need to recalibrate my speedometer after my tire/rim swap?

Is it 4 out on all speeds? If so it is only necessary to move the speedo needle on its shaft, small job. On the other hand the difference varies with the vehicle speed, it has to be programmed for different axle ratio or tire diameter with programming tool

People flashing their brights at me...

I have noticed that it makes quite a difference if the vehicle is empty, just the driver, or back seats occupied with a load in the rear. Some passengers are max load and drop the rear enough to make headlights objectionable to air traffic.

Vehicle feels like it is going over bumps on slow coast from a dead stop

The noise and vibration during the last few feet of a stop is usually caused by the ABS sensors in the front wheel bearings getting confusing signals from the rust particles in the space between the bearings in the hub, dope out which wheel it is and replace the hub, if you feel financially...

    2021 Tahoe rust protection/undercoating

The paint and body panels on most vehicles has material in them, then that acts like the Anode, on marine outboard motors and hot water tanks, this is slowly consumed and has a lifespan of about 5- 6 years, your typical rust through warranty. There fore, I start using Crown rust proofing at that...

My AC fan sounds like it is surging.

If your evaporator is frosting over, the low pressure switch at the compressor cuts it out and soon turns it back on (surging ?). Frosting over can happen with: low charge of coolant, obstructed cabin air filter, and plugged drains on the evaporator and a few other reasons. If you find a...

Trouble removing front differential fill plug

Heat the bolt as hot as you dare, let it cool till you can touch it with your bare hands now it will remove easily. The physics is, the bolt expands with heat , has nowhere to go so it stretches the hole ( makes it larger)the when you let it cool it will turn, since it is loose and any goop...

Rough idle is back with vengence

The hose is in the tank as part of the fuel pump assembly, symptom may show up as low fuel pressure, which goes up as you put a jerry can of fuel into the tank. But it is not conclusive, the fact it idles rough and smooths out when raising fuel level is conclusive

Rough idle is back with vengence

There is a hose connection between the actual fuel pickup and the pump suction connector, the pump sucks air as the fuel in the tank gets low, rough idle when standing still (no sloshing) Higher fuel level in tank, pump sucks fuel.

2019 GMC Yukon NO Trans Gears, NO Tachometer, NO Oil Pressure, NO Power Steering SECOND TIME!

Buy another battery and use it and if the problem does not come back you found the problem, heck the price of a battery is not worth the cost of the aggravation. The reason I pick on the battery is, that for a while the original batteries had internal intermittent connections in the internal...
