I sent those to show that 307 has been superseded, and so you'd have current and former part numbers. Maybe you already had them.

Hell, how do you tell which ones supersede which other ones? I have collected a pretty good list of part numbers.

I don't think you can tell the actual order without inside help. :( The links I posted list the current part number, then all the ones that have been superseded by that number.

Yeah, I saw that. I appreciate your effort. I know you tried twice.

LOL, the ebayer who wanted me to pay before he checked his inventory didn't answer back today.

The eBay sellers can be flaky. I've bought two small electronic devices that are difficult to find locally or at national vendors. (An A/D converter so I can rip my LPs using a usb port.)

First listing stated they were in Cheyenne, WY but then "can't send it to Colorado," after I paid for it. (??) The second one I bought from another person who sent it, the tracking said it was delivered, so I told the seller that I didn't receive it. They sent me a pic of the package on a porch that looks nothing like mine, or any house in my neighborhood. So, two refunds and lots of frustration.

You'd think GM would have used up all available numbers by now! 20 numbers for the same part..

Anyhow, sorry to hear about your ebay experience.. My experience has been very good, over 20 years!

Have had very few things not quite right, and the seller always made it right.
And you can file a complaint with ebay, it's ALWAYS been handled.
Sometimes you can tell how the seller is by the pictures and description.

BUT regarding the Escalade HVAC.. unfortunately none of the listings look very good.

I've had some of those 'wrong house' pictures from Amazon.

No they don't.

It took 2-3 years to find all the parts to repair my '93 Harley FXR, after I crashed it. But I had no trouble with the sellers.

I have had good luck disassembling and cleaning the button contacts with a pencil eraser and be back in business.

This isn't specifically for the HVAC controls but the window switches and such.

Thanks. This issue is starting to whisper "improvise" in my ear; or maybe "roll the dice".

But not yet.

I'm gonna finish this, but haven't reread it. Sorry if there're reruns here.

Nobody was able to help out. Most didn't bother to reply. One eBay seller said he had it, but wanted me to pay before he checked his inventory. (LOL, some peoples' kids.)

One place said they had it, rebuilt and guaranteed. They're proud of them though, $489. (it was their photo I used in this thread.)

I finally gave in and ordered from them, but this control module has been superseded so many times that I think there are over a dozen part numbers involved. This was another reason I wasn't sending Mr eBay any money ahead. He already had my VIN and the relevant RPO code.

So now, the 'rebuilt and guaranteed' place wants me to remove mine, take pictures of it front and rear, and email them the pictures. Mainly, they wanted to see the part number, off the rear.

As I mentioned in another thread, ATT changed something, last year. Since then, I can't send pictures between texts and emails anymore.

Now, finally, the punch line.

My local mechanic agreed to remove the module, take pictures of the front and rear, and email them to me, so I could forward them on.

While he had it out, he started messing with it. He took it apart, cleaned it up, and it works perfectly.

And he wouldn't let me pay him.

The online guy was cool about it, but I'll still be watching my CC statement.

That can be a hassle, but when you need to:

Take the photo with the phone. If it's an Android phone you can access the phone with a computer through the USB port (like it's charging from the PC, but set the phone to allow for file transfer or photo transfer).

On the computer open the phone with the file system, expand the tree, and navigate to the DCIM file. There may be a "Camera" subfolder, and the pics are in there.

Pic files may be named with the date and time (e.g., 20260316_1353), or you may need to sort them in reverse by date. Then the latest pic will be at the top of the list. Drag and drop the desired file to your computer desktop.

Here's what mine looks like on a Linux computer (Windoz will look a bit different, and may show the whole file tree graphically):

Let me see if I got this right...

I snap a picture, text it to you; and you email it back. Or,

I email you a picture from my laptop, and you text it back.

Seriously, thanks.

BTW, since you're in a mood, how do you change a thread's title?

If you created the thread, you should be able to edit it for a certain period of time, but I'm not sure for how long. Plan B is to ask a moderator to change it.

As a mod, my menus will be different from yours, but there should be a three-dot menu at the top right-hand corner of the thread page. Click on the dropdown arrow to see what your "more" options are.
