My Blendmount for my V1 broke today after 15+ years of getting blasted by bass and they do not sell the part separate :(
so $143 for a new one
well good news I called blendmount this morning just to see if they sold the 1 piece I need that broke and they do, so now it's just $45 instead of $143
They sell spare parts but mine wasn't listed on there website store.

Swapped out the 12v plugs with a USB-C data plug feeding the head unit on the left, and three charging ports on the right. Took a little sanding and fitting but everything works!

On the downside, I somehow killed the power supply to my rear 12v outlet at the back of the center console. Definitely fixed it until I broke it….

I remember someone posting a link to a set of metal emblem covers for the front and rear bowties for the GMT900s that looked like this...

I thought I had saved them in my Amazon list but I can't seem to find them now.

Anybody got a link???

Planning on:

Delphi control arms
timken hubs
kyb monomax shocks

edelmann steering rack (3.0 turns lock to lock) and delphi tie rod ends..

need to send a delphi control arm back because the plastic cap cut into the dust boot..

I need those struts for my truck. I see Rock Auto has them for a good price, $510 shipped for me. I’d like to know how they fit and if they change the ride height of the front of your truck. Mines lowered and I don’t want it to come up any.

Had local tire shop rotate the tires on two trucks today.

One truck they rotated the tires properly, the other they cross rotated all four tires instead of doing a rear wheel drive cross rotation. I even include a printed diagram and yet somehow they still get it wrong a couple times a year!

The diagram includes the tire pressures for both trucks, one got 38 psi instead of 31 psi. The other got 37 psi instead of 35.

Rear Wheel Drive Tire Rotation.jpg

I used to put chalk marks on the tires when I first started taking it in for rotations. But they obliterated the chalk so I couldn't verify where the tires went. That's when I remembered to look up the TPM sensor positions with the Tech-2. So now the relearn is done at home and verified with the Tech-2. That's how we catch them now! LOL

Of course, all the sensor positions/tire rotations are logged on an excel spreadsheet!

You never cease to amaze me with your meticulous spreadsheets... lol

I keep pretty good records of work done and parts changed and dates and mileage and where the parts were bought from and what the warranty is on said parts.... but nothing like what you do.

Keep up the good work James.

probably won't effect you at all with such a small ratio change, but just incase. long story about gm ASM.

so my only experience with faster steering ratio with gm abs/stability control is the 08 c6 tech. the rack ratio is just a joke for a sports car. it's just awful. slow as balls, I don't remember exactly but something like 17:1 instead of 13:1 for an normal sporty car.

so over the years they have changed racks, from ratio that is the same for full travel left to right and newer ones had one ratio in the middle, still slow but sped up towards lock n each side. plus some aftermath angle kits that move the tie rod closer to the centerline of the knuckle. that's what I have, since I have the older fixed ratio rack. but while the newer rack ratio or bolt in tie rod kits all help make the cars actually drive like a sports car, the stability/active handling hates it. it sees the slower steering input from the sensor on the column but feels the extra turn in from the yaw sensors and thinks the car is over steering into a corner and starts applying abs on different tires to try and keep you from the spin it thinks is happening. it's all very annoying and there's guys working on calibration boxes to go between the steering wheel sensor and the bcm. but it's not beyond the testing stages.

right now, like my car. there's just work arounds. always turn off all the aids, or some just cut the power wire that runs to the steering wheel angle sensor, that throws a code, but disables all the asm stuff but does leave traction control active. unlike holding the asm button down for 10 secs turns everyone off and you're in your own rain or shine.

oddly it's not really something you feel while driving around corners at speed, I only felt mine over reacting at slower speeds. especially when say you're on a 45mph road and turning into a parking lot, so you're braking to slow while making the turn into the driveway, there's braking and rotating there that is doesn't like at all and will abs individual tires trying to help.

Hauled the Airstream out to Luray, VA with the 2012 today. The hitch is set up better for it right now than for the Suburban 3500 until I get the 3” lift under the Airstream in October, so it made sense. But oh my, what a difference over pulling our old Alpha Wolf. Went from 7.5 to 9.5 mpg on the same roads we’ve traveled many times, and the Airstream pulls much easier and smoother. Hardly knew it was back there.

While changing my trans fluid today, I started heavily considering a tune for the truck. I love the idea of HPTuners, but do any of yall know if there is something like a "master thread" with the most popular tuning options for our gen trucks?

Not that I know of, but the hptuners forum has lots of good people who are helpful.

I have hptuners but I still went for a black bear tune. They do such a great job it was worth the money. They’ve tuned all 3 of mine now.

I see them pop up A LOT as well. I'm definily considering them too, just want to weigh out the pros and cons.
