Went to open the rear hatch and it was frozen.
Now auto feature no longer works.
Going to check fuses when it warms up a little.
Can open it manually, for now.

you didn't flip that front upper console button by chance did you? that turns it off
Nope, went out to put some tools in the back, it started to open then stopped because it was frozen shut.
I pulled on it and it opened manually.
It does pull the lift gate shut when at the bottom but not completely latched.
Ran over to the ranch to assist starting a diesel heater for their barn.
I hope it's not something big.
The lift portion makes zero noise now.
No grinding or any noises at all.

are the gas struts working? if the struts do not have enough strength then it gives up and closes

Struts hold it up just fine when opened manually.
I realize the cold would affect them, especially when it was below zero when I went out this morning but they held it up just fine.

proper operation is when you have opened the rear hatch manually after it is about 1/3rd of the way they should lift the hatch up on there own without assistance.
then when closing it by hand once it is about 2/3rd's closed there should be almost no resistance

It may just be the cold.
Hoping ambit warms up the support struts will work better.
I may have to order new ones.

try helping it up with your finger tips if it works then you know its just the struts.
it should close with the hatch fully up also without help, by just pressing the button

Doesn't close using the button fully open.
No noise, nothing.
Worked great until this morning.
But I've never tried to open it in below zero weather.

It tried to open at first, then just stopped and hasn't done anything since.
I could hear the ice crackling when I opened it by hand.

Went out to grab some tools from the back, and the hatch worked fine for 2 times then it stopped working again.
Guess it's temperature sensitive.
I'll have to order some new gas struts.

It was 9* when I was outside.
