Huh, discovered there are 2 different versions luckily the buttons can be swapped otherwise won't fit the panel because of the gap in the middle. Was just messing around in the junkyard and got this one for free, they gave it to me, lights work I can return the one I ordered View attachment 448228

Without going out to look, I think mine is the one with the gap.
It's 4* outside so I'd rather not go out and look just now. :p

Here's the actual report from the inspection:

View attachment 448043

I kinda knew the emission stuff wouldn't pass, since I recently did the rear O2 sensors, and apparently haven't driven enough miles/hours to complete the internal readiness tests. The TPMS is dumb, because my winter wheels/tires don't have the sensors. There should be a way to turn that alarm off in the Tech2, yeah??? And I've had 6qts of fresh synthetic and a new filter waiting for the oil change for a while. I think they just looked at the oil change monitor percentage (that I never reset). It's only been 4500-5000 miles since the last change.

I ordered two AC Delco balljoints from Scamazon (I know... I don't care) because they'll get here Saturday, so I have time to rent the tool and maybe buy a pickle fork.

did they fail it because the o2 heater or both. I thought I read they would still pass it if one of the i/m was incomplete but not failed.

For others who may have implemented something similar; just found this product which claims a 10 year battery life for the AirTags.

While I haven't had to replace the battery in my 2500 yet I've ordered a set and plan to hide the tag a bit deeper in the vehicle. The key is to get the AirTag as high as possible without the possibility of it being found.

from what I read, always put 2 air tags in. one that's fairly easy to find. because their phones will go off if one is around following you that's not yours. and they will tear stuff up till they find one.

but once they find it and silence the notification on their phone. the 2nd one will still be there.

location doesn't really matter. it doesn't use cell service. it Bluetooths to the phone of the guys that took it without them knowing it.

I wonder if this tactic might work to allow me to finally recalibrate the steering angle sensor on my '07. I installed a new one a few years ago but messed it up when the wheel moved ever so slightly before turning the key on, and now as soon as I turn the wheel the first time after starting, I get the Stabilitrak/TC off warning. I don't even notice it any more, but I would like to fix it without replacing the thing, but it's not an option on the GMT900 menus. Going to play around a bit and see.
Cannot recalibrate, have to replace it with new. Must use inop rod in steering wheel/column and not remove pin in sensor until latter part of installation.

that's been confirmed a long time ago.
You didn't tell me!

Airtags will use any other Apple device and perform a BT connection to the other device to go out to the internet to report location.
They will talk to an iPad, Apple Watch, etc. that has either a cell connection or a WiFi connection.

I don't have any Apple devices, but the installing 2 Airtags is a good idea.
It's too bad Apple doesn't have a way to limit who can see the Airtag ping so thieves wouldn't be able to see the ping following them around.

I must have done mine just right, because it worked perfectly, right from the get go when I replaced mine.
Solved the Stabilitrak error as soon as the steering wheel was moved.

yeah that's how I understand them to work too

I don't have any apple surff either besides a work iPad that's so locked down it doesn't have an app store on it. can't even open a safes pdf file one or, it's basically a paperweight.

I'm not a apple guy but I do feel like apple got the air tags right. I'd have some if they worked on my stuff.

I believe the alert for a air tag following you around is because people were using them to stalk others. pop one on a car and then follow it home that night kinda thing. scary stuff. so it's gotta let you know when one not linked to your account is following you around for to long. of course they doesn't do much for us without apples lol. there's a scanner app that will let you look for them. but you gotta physically open it and check.

it's kinda funny to do around airport baggage. scanner kinda freaks out.

What LED bulb is that for your courtesy light?
I need to replace mine, the cheap ones I bought failed rather quickly and I want to put something decent in there.
Man no idea to be honest I bought some of these like several years ago, these are blue color that I use for the puddle lights. I know I got them off of eBay but eBay only keeps a record for 2 years. I can recommend the Auxito bulbs though and only from a genuine auxito dealer, there are fakes out there
this guy has genuine auxito, the bulbs in the puddle lights are T10

I've used Auxito LED bulbs in headlamps and other places and they have always performed well.
Have a set of headlamps in one car that are still doing well after about 4 years.
Thanks for the heads up.

Just ordered a pack of T10 bulbs from Auxito.
I'll install them when the temp warms up to around 30*.

found ebay purchase history going back to 2020 but I bought those bulbs before then, they may even be from 10 years ago  when I find something that works I usually buy a couple sets and put then in the tool box, 1. because if I need one I have one on hand already and 2 in case the seller disappears or they are no longer made, etc
led bulbs can be really hit n miss

Yeah, I have a storage cubby that has assorted bulbs and electrical items on my workbench.
I tend to do the same thing with stuff that works well.
Even have 2 extra sets of headlight bulbs for my other car that will go with the car should I sell it before it comes up here to WY.

did they fail it because the o2 heater or both. I thought I read they would still pass it if one of the i/m was incomplete but not failed.

I don't know the relevant NH-specific laws regarding readiness tests, and the paperwork just stated that the emissions test failed (but I honestly didn't pay that much attention to it). I don't think NH is similar to other states that may allow one of the tests to be non-ready, and still pass overall.

This is the state website: https://www.nhinspect.com/what-to-expect/

If the monitors don't reset in a couple days, I'll probably reinstall the old O2 sensors, and see if they work.

In NJ all monitors need to show ready. Even one not ready you'll fail inspection.
