So forgive me for not reading everything, I read 8-10 pages, but what is consensus go to leveling kit for the z71? Picking up a ‘24 hopefully on Monday and wife says she wants this one leveled. Looked at the 2” rough country linked on the first few pages of this thread, but says it will not fit on the z71. Thanks!

I would get the rig first and do some measurements. These newer ones come pretty dang level from the factory.

Seems most kits put the z71 slightly nose high. I agree on being level from factory. Rough country is 2” front 1” rear. The 3.5” rough country also lifts the front higher. And the readylift 3”, that I have, does 3” front 2” rear.

With all of these kits the other trims look level, just seems to be the z71 that end up nose high from what I’ve seen.

One person reported an upper ball joint failure on the stock UCA’s and 2” RC. That’s what I had at first and wanted to go higher anyway so helped sway the decision to go 3” readylift.

And the 2” RC does fit the z71, that’s a mistake on their site that shockingly sounds like they still haven’t changed since 2021!

All my ex’s high country needed was a 1” up front to level it…and it almost looks nose high just with that. I think if you are just after a level look, not actually having it a little higher, than a stock z71 pretty much gives you that.

Changed some things up today. Went to the 2” level from RC (new release with front and back spacers). Also went up a tire size and squeezed in 285/55r22. Slight trim required to lower portion of front fender well behind felt, in-noticeable. Good luck going any bigger on a 2 or 2.5” level.

Hello I have the same one. Doesn’t it come with a factory 2” lift? I’m looking to do the same thing. Wasn’t sure if I needed the lift?

Salesman told me it did have a 2” level in the front, haven’t climbed under it to look yet.

No gm suv I’m aware of that comes with a factory 2” lift. Many confuse the Silverado trail boss and sierra at4, that do come with it, with the SUV’s. Rough country being one of them, and sounds like your salesman too.

Ok, I misspoke in name I guess, it has a factory level on the front then is what I should have said, as it sure appears to sit level directly off the dealership lot.

They come level from the factory, without a lift or level.

Alright guys. I'm gonna ask a stupid question: Why do you want the truck to be level front to back? It seems like you'd want more lift in the back for carrying loads. I, personally, always thought cars looked better with a slight rise towards the back. Some of the lifted trucks I've seen out there have a marked lift in the front that makes it look like the truck's got some dumpy drawers or something lol! It's not attractive to me at least... I've never modded a truck before so I have no idea what's considered attractive and functional; I've only done my Accord.

School me! Make me change my mind. ;)

Its all personal preference. Everyone has their own opinion. I like nice and level, or just an ever so slight touch higher in the back. Usually if they are perfectly level…they look like they are sagging ass. And that carolina squat stuff, OMG lmao. Its a complete joke imo…but, im sure the guys that do it like that look so to each their own.

Carolina Squat...:laughing1:

Thanks @olyelr ! I would've never have known that was a thing. Yeah...that looks stupid. I'd be embarrassed to be in one of those trucks....

I just thought the ones I've seen around here with the squating thing going on just didn't know how to install and adjust a lift kit lol!

I'd like to add a subtle lift to the Tahoe, but we actually do use it to haul lumber, concrete, etc., since we're renovating our 1909 house. Too much higher, it'd be hard for me to get stuff in and out of it dammit....plus, it's his DD not mine.

May have been overthinking the brackets. Poked around on Silverado forums and found the same brackets being referred to as “mud flap brackets” and seem to be commonly removed for additional clearance. Plenty of space at full lock now.View attachment 384986View attachment 384987
In my opinion this is not a mud flap bracket. Pretty sure the parts list calls it a frame extension. My thought is that it is intended to protect the cabin during impact from intrusion of the wheel or caving in. I added shims under the outer bolts to get it to angle and increase gap where the tire rubs.
