Hi Team! @mods please move this to the standard tahoe general discussion. I realize I posted in EV.

Has anyone put Corvette Ceramic Rotors and Brakes on their Tahoe? All of my cars have ceramic brake systems and I have become fond of not cleaning my wheels.

Ok, I discovered that the big brake kit offers 410mm front rotors. The ZR1 Rotors are 394mm buy they are 5 bolt. Seeking 6 bolt 410mm ceramic rotors.

ceramic rotors? you must mean pads..... ceramic rotors sounds like a really bad idea

No, I mean rotors. Why do they sound like a bad idea? They are 100% perfect on every other car I own.

I just use powerstop towing brake kits. Best value for the stopping power. drilled slotted rotors look nice as well.

just never heard of "carbon ceramic" rotors until just now. I have used carbon fiber pads which are noisy and very dirty,
I see these carbon ceramic rotors are designed to last the lifetime of the vehicle, I have my doubts given how i drive. lol

They are lightweight performance rotors designed for high heat driving situations. Mainly for sports cars but have the added benefit of low brake dust.

after a little reading it appears I am correct they can wear out pretty quickly if subjected to heat & abuse, that's a very expensive wear item in my book

Only when racing. Regular driving they will outlast the vehicle.

I’m wondering why they don’t offer them for trucks. You can’t get better performance for the track but many people choose steelies for non competitive track days because they are expensive to replace. It just seems to me that they should be available on a for the Tahoe. Like I said I have had a great experience with them. I just don’t track my cars.

they can probably be adapted i'm sure. Gm doesn't make a whole lot of high performance parts for SUV's
for someone like me this would be a very expensive part and I would wear it out just from the way I drive (normally)
in my case larger STEEL rotors are my best value & performance.

I am guessing you would need caliper adapters to make it work.

If I can find 6 lug 410mm rotors they will fit right in the GM performance brake setup. Just have to make sure the hats are the same offset.

you might look at aftermarket brands like wilwood, they make carbon ceramic rotors

Yep. All I’ve found so far are 5 lug.

well wilwood makes performance 6 lug brakes for the suv's and trucks, you might ask them if their 6 lug hat would adapt to the carbon ceramic rotor

You could do PPV brake setup. I think they are 6 piston, couple that with powerstops or wildwood and you'll be good to go. Maybe escalade CTSV brakes if you want to burn some cash
