Yeah, basically.
I mounted it along the frame rail in front of the motor on passenger side. It fits behind that splash shield. Basically cut the rubber part of the hose (can't remember if it was the send or return off the top of my head) and plumbed it into a remote filter housing with hose barb adapters.
I use a Wix 51269 filter which is made for hydraulic pumps and has no anti-drainback valve. The fluid in the factory lines and cooler drains back to the trans when it's shut off.
The hose worm clamps cause a bit of seepage in the winter time, so I plan on changing them to spring type hose clamps. I also picked up two 3/8" compression to hose barb fittings and plan on cutting the metal tubing just before where it transitions to rubber hose and run a bit longer length of rubber trans fluid lines to the filter. There's currently not much play it the hose connections.
