Yup, i really need to try out my spare tire thingy soon...
Already learned more about it than me actually spending the time with the manual.

Tightening it back until the double clicks worked. I really had to lean into it to get them, but it worked like a champ after.
now it has a crap load of oil soaking in.
Like I said, it’s a wonderful design on GM’s part. Imagine being on the side of the road at night trying to fight that damn thing.

I had a feeling it might cause grief, but it still surprised me how it did. That’s why I wanted to do it in the garage. Lol.
Some folks take a angle grinder and cut the latch portion off so just the cable holds it.

I too did this in my garage as preventative maintenance rather than on the side of the road in the rain or slush in my Sunday church clothes.

Is the secondary latch only on the NNBS and up? I don’t think my 02 has it and there isn’t a spare or spare tire mech on my 08 Silverado for some reason.
dropped it off at the transmission shop this morning, should have some form of synopsis by Wednesday
So it does have a problem then?

My 03 has it--PITA! I had to drop the complete setup down--unbolted the winch--and pry that secondary latch to open it up.Is the secondary latch only on the NNBS and up? I don’t think my 02 has it and there isn’t a spare or spare tire mech on my 08 Silverado for some reason.
I don't know I am sure it does but maybe I am crazy, there going to put in a billet torque converter and do some work to the valve body and go thru all the clutches and see where the wear is I told him I want it sufficient for another 100hp which is what a super charger should give me.
