I wish I

Does it interfere with anything when opening the back door?
nope, looks like gm just saved money by only using a half piece, looking again it might be better to just get a roll of generic stuff that would stick to the inside of the outer door lip
maybe one of these

Thinking about the wind noise difference I’m noticing on my 2012 vs. that of the 2015.

The 2015-2020 Escalades have an additional seal that goes all the way down the front of the rear door edge which seals the door gap. It was a noticeable improvement when input it on my 2015 Yukon.

I haven’t seen it on the GMT900 Escalades I’ve looked at. Looking at my 2012 Suburban, it seems like the upper seal (red arrow) could be extended all the way down (yellow arrows) for the same effect.

The seal is just press fit on the seam. Anybody know where to get longer lengths?

Cmatt- I think your onto something here- I went out and looked at my 2012 Denali. The weatherstripping just stops and there is still that edge that you could put some weatherstripping on the lower half to reduce wind/road noise. The rear doors have full length weather stripping (double) for inner and outer.

I'm thinking they only did the top half because it is at ear level, so anything lower and the customer might be less prone to hearing road noise

I know i live in the desert and its 100+ degrees out, but i feel like my AC isnt getting cold enough. Feels like it blows about 70ish and takes forever for it to cool off. When i get back in town tomorrow, gonna get a cheap thermometer from the dollar store and see how much refrigerate is in it. Hoping it low and filling it will solve my jssues.

What about this which would slide over the edge of the door continuing from the upper strip down?View attachment 253673
that same top piece fits on the bottom but they are $50 and about 6-8" short of covering the whole length, I just bought a $10 roll of some other stuff going to put it on the inner lip of the door to cover that area and see how it works

Son has to move out of his college appartment by Friday and move into another one this weekend. We're leaving tomorrow (Mizzou) and loaded up a full sized matress and bed frame into the Denali with 2nd and 3rd row seatbacks folded down. Still had room for a couple boxes and totes in the cargo area, and smaller stuff on the floor in front of 2nd row, aisle, and behind 2nd row under the matress.

He was surprised how much more room there was than in our 2001 swb he first had it all in... Lol

Talking about wind noise, I've found that when it rains, the noise of the rain hitting the B pillar right next to my head is annoying and sounds very loud and tink tink tinky. I didn't have that problem with my 2001

After looking again I don't know how much difference it would make because there is still a inner door seal, a outer one would be somewhat redundant

Did they remove the seal later on? I have a seal that covers the gap between the two doors on both the window frame and door skin.

So yours has a seal going all the way down the front edge of the rear doors?
