What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Same here.......the speakers and wiring is all there......but no sound

My quick connectors were corroded very bad, ended up cutting em off and splicing em, that worked for me. Good luck fellas

Been curious myself, but I still haul alot of stuff in mine so I just left the small bump stop.

Theres a couple of youtube videos on it. I saw a dude take a grinder and cut the front side, then use a pry bar to pry it down and cut the rest off

Had my rig for almost 2 years. I hate that i didn't do a build thread.

I got 24s on my PPV and it rides horrible, I'm thinking its the super firm suspension. Going to do the 2-3/4 belltech drop with coils and new shocks in the new month or 2.

Dropped the rear today, belltech springs, shocks and relocation brackets. Gna do front knuckles and front shocks tomorrow. How are you guys doing the free travel mod on the nnbs tahoes? Gas tank is maybe 1/8" from the frame and I'd really like to not slip and put a hole in it.

Should be much more than 1/8". Anyway, I used a recip saw to slice the inside and outside along the bottom of the frame rail simultaneously, working forward from the back until I got close to the tank. Then I used a cut-off disc to slice the outside and forward edge so all that was left holding it on was the inside part next to the tank. I beat a cold chisel into the slice on the outside to spread the gap open far enough to get a pry bar into the gap, then pried the bracket downward as far as I could. This gave me plenty of room to use the cut-off disc to score the remaining back wall. Then I bent the bracket up and down until it snapped off. Cleaned up the remains on the frame with a flap disc and painted. Nuttin to it.

Link to post in my build thread for pertinent pics. Also- maybe it's not much more than 1/8". I forgot how close it was. I was picturing it to be more around 1/2" clearance. You could always slip a piece of metal back there as an extra layer of protection while cutting the bracket. I get pretty surgical with a cut-off wheel so I felt comfortable with how I did it.

the newer ones have led's factory, other than that I don't see any difference the little light cover shade on my 12 is a whitish color, on the 18 they are clear.

so it's too much trouble to install your own LEDS ?

No I didn't take pictures of this one... they just cut the wires at the base of the b pillar... I just cut off the splice and reconnected them... on another subject you remember what you wired the 5v illumination wire up to on your radio...?

Well I installed my LSX Innovation lightweight alternator and PS pulleys. After fabricating a mid 90s GM V6 puller/installer to work.

No I didn't take pictures of this one... they just cut the wires at the base of the b pillar... I just cut off the splice and reconnected them... on another subject you remember what you wired the 5v illumination wire up to on your radio...?

I believe I just wired that with the 12v power. Since the truck have RAP, the illumination of the HU would stay on until it(RAP) either times out (10 minutes) or until the door is opened

How'd you wire it in? Bright enough at night?

They seemed bright enough in my garage with the doors closed and lights off ( no windows ). It was super easy, grounded to the pedal mount bolt, then in the little black covered distribution block/fuse block on the floor behind the ebrake, you pop that cover off, then the right side of it, the 2nd clip has a grey wire in the #8 spot, tapped that for power and they work with the dome lights.

only thing im not sure of yet is these lights are from autozone and the "white" is pretty blue but a small led strip is hard to find these days since vleds ditched theirs, which is what i had in my NBS

I mean the nice thing is you dont have to use a LED strip, you can use whatever, but the wiring stays the same.
