Did an oil change on the burb. First time with the fumoto oil change valve. Handy, clean (for the oil drain - filter change is still messy AF), but very very slow even on hot oil. I'm trying to get a sub-$30 full synth oil change. I've been user supertech oil for a minute now, which is 16 bucks, and the supertech oil filters are 4 bucks, plus an extra quart at like 5 bucks is right at 25 plus tax. However, I could only cross reference the supertech 10060 which is the pf43 clone. The pf63 extended filter like I wanted, I couldnt find its supertech match....so I went AC delco on the filter at 8 bucks. Plus 4 bucks for a bottle of MMO. So it was 35 bucks, oh well, maybe next time in 5k.
I have the Femco drain valve and it’s slow too. I just poke a hole in the filter and open the valve and go do something else for awhile.

I.might end up staying staying with the supertech high mileage full synthetic.instead of mobile one in my truck. I like the k&n filter cause its easy to screw off with the wrench.

I tried using the double bag method over the oil filter and theres simply not even space for a clean removal

I am a huge fan of the Penzoil Platinum 10w-30. I found that the way to get the cleanest removal of the oil filter is to punch a hole in the bottom of it with a screwdriver and let it drain.

Yup, I use a large punch in the center of the bottom of the filter and let it drain. When it slows to almost nothing I loosen the filter a turn or two and it usually causes more to drain out the hole I made.

I use a strap wrench to loosen the filter

A nut on the bottom of the filter may make punching a drain hole in the bottom difficult.

I usually find myself loosening the filter with a pair of channel locks if I can’t get it off with my hands.

Someone said yesterday that you’d need resistors for the hybrid tails to avoid hyperflash- no you won’t because only the brake lights are LED. The turn signals are still incadesent.
yes the turn signal is incandescent

Halloween around 1987. I'm driving down the road and two kids throw eggs at my car and I quickly pull over and wash it off at a nearby gas station. Just then my buddy pulls up and we go down the street they ran and catch up with them. They see us coming and start running, my buddy passes me, they run into their house and into their bedroom. The windows are open, my buddy pulls right up onto their lawn, jumps out and showers them with BBs from his new automatic bb-gun! Bet they never did that again! We skedaddled after that right quick before their parents realized what happened and came after us!

Had that bottle of water thrown against the rental windscreen. Still waiting on the $$ from the rental company to pay it out. Also have seen recent posts on the neighborhood forums of kids this summer throwing bags of coins onto passing cars and speeding off. By the time the affected are aware of what happened, the perpetrators are long gone and especially if in the night. grrrrr......

What are the chances my plugs/wires have been changed? Doesn't show on Carfax but often doesn't.

134k miles when purchased 2 weeks ago. Starts-runs smooth...

Engine compartment was FILTHY. I powerwashed it at the coin wash (I need a clean engine bay)

At 134 and a filthy engine, I would venture to say you're likely on the originals.

I'd chase after them a pit them and leave
that would teach them a good lesson

Good news, crawled under the Denali and the rear air shocks look good. Felt all around them and no rips or tears in boots. Have pics.

The bad news- the heat shield for the spare is broken at the upper frame mount- prbably ratttling.

I would bet the cost of a set of plugs and wires that they are the original.

Probably don’t need to tell you that #8 is a pain to change.

lol, reminds of the show "weeds" in one of the first episodes her car new gets "penny-ied", (gets pelted with thousands of pennies ruining the paint job), that was a great show they were always really creative with funny pseudonym's.

you might want to verify no leaks by spraying those down with a mixture of soap and water and watch for bubbles
