Trick Turbo is a reputable supplier of kits; they have a budget twin kit for around $5k and a better one for around $7k. Anything less than that and you'll probably end up sucking shredded parts into your intake and ruining your engine. But then you might get lucky and just end up with leaks and failures. Here's a link to one of their twin builds on pt.net.

Just like the age-old saying: you get what you pay for. I would think it definitely applies to turbos and superchargers. Ive thought about the fact that my Whipple requires absolutely no service for 100,000 miles, and then it only needs an oil change.
you think i could get a whipple for my 2002 chevy tahoe 5.3 rwd? Have a link from a reputable distributor?

I got mine from Black Bear Performance, a vendor here. The 02’s are hit and miss as I found out. They told me that I need drive by wire throttle, not the cable throttle. GM started using the DBW in mid 02. Check yours out. If there’s a throttle cable going to your throttle body you’re out of luck, but if it’s just wires you’re good to go. @BlackBearPerf are you listening?

A friend did a twin turbo on his 5.3..... It took a while for his computer to communicate to the engine computer to manage the mixture. But it works good now. I just sent him a text to send me a photo of his setup.

Photos coming soon.

I was trying to alert @BlackBearPerf so they would chime in! But if they don’t with this second alert you can ask them directly and they can tell you if it will work.
Thank you for tagging us on this, we would be happy to help with a supercharger and tuning, the best thing to do is email in, and Justin our tuner can go over any details, [email protected]. Thanks!

Thank you so much for chiming in . I need a supercharger for 5.3 2002 chevy Tahoe
Not sure if it is still available but Whipple and Magnacharger are having a big sale on their kits, that we cannot compete with. We would be happy to help with tuning via our AutoCal.
