So sale got me new goodies for the truck =)



so time to start with sound deadner, 60-90sq see how far I get with that much.

Well was on the way home and truck started over heating got home and water was pouring out from behind the water pump, it was toasted, So this weekend was work on the truck to fix it so trip to autozone later I had New water pump, and some YouTube videos from 1A auto, and watched a couple others. I got the pump changed, coolant flushed, holding temp no leaks. Been looking at alts for the truck, thinking about mechman 320amp for system. got it washed up aswell

It was alot easier than I expected, i didnt want to have to pay a shop to do it. Yeah it doesn't look half bad shined up

I had to replace the water pump on my 6.0 a little over a year ago. I had my family friend that’s a pretty good mechanic come over and help with it but it was easier than I thought it would be haha

Great job! Always so much more rewarding doing it yourself no matter how small the job. Water pump might be an easy thing to change, but think about its importance to your truck. That makes it a valuable job. Buy yourself a beer!

Thanks, man I was glad I wasn't far from home when it started over heating, side note I ordered my ** alt, a 270amp CES alt

Didnt get alot done today but I did get my second battery tray for under the hood and some stuff for my big 3 upgrade. Mounted up the New bracket/battery tray, spent more time messing with coolant overflow container than getting mount flipped

pulled old one out


This is new one I mounted




Now I gotta get another agm for under the hood and order some more 1/0 wire so i can get it wired up. Talked to my stereo buddy trying to find a weekend to get down there so we can rebuild the amp rack and sub box. Need to get more sound deadner in the truck but being lazy waiting on color matched handles so I can do it all at once.

For anyone who would like to know, In order to add the battery tray. You will need ,The second battery tray out of a 2500 with second battery option, doorman Battery Tie-down and Bolt
1. GM 15246518
2. GM 11509853 (Bolt for Battery Tie-Down)
3. Dorman 00587 Battery Hold-Down Kit

Also note all that is need for install is a 10mm socket, 13mm deep well, and a 3 and 6 inch extension was all that was needed to flip tray over the bolt at front mount of your coolant overflow must be removed, both extensions were used to reach down in between air box overflow, so i could slide it out of the way to install new battery tray.

Nice plan. I feel ya on waiting to do handles until you have to open the doors up lol. I'm in the same boat.

Please dont spare details or pics on the 2nd battery install. Very interested in this mod, seems pretty simple but I always over think stuff

No Problems if wanted i may even be able to put together a full how to on this process for our tahoes if there's an interest. I just got 20ft of 1/0 wire ordered still trying to figure out what i want to do on my battery setup in the end, Thinking of NorthStar AGM's

Well today i decided to see if i could work out my P0455 & P0449 codes that my truck was
throwing for evap system tired of seeing my Check Engine Light . I looked though and saw that the shop had done the purge value on the intake when i was up in maryland for work. So i ordered the ACDelco 214-2149 Vapor Canister Vent Solenoid Scored on amazon under 15 bucks and a new gas cap, worth cheap stuff first all i have is a BAFX Elm 327 reader, to pull codes.

These two items have been sitting on my table since last wednesday, so i got around to getting these on today, After i broke a clip on the hose for the vapor canister i got everything pulled and the new one put back in looked at the clip figured a zip-tie would keep it secure for a little while so i can replace that now.

Good news is it seems to have cleared up my evap leak codes and the truck is running good again its weird i had no issues filling at the pump, but there was no pressure built up when releasing gas cap.

Well I got my door handles back from painter they came out really good, maybe to good for my doors I got my first door opened up changed handle, swivel adapter and a long extension made this possible without pulling regulator or having to mess with window

Thanks, and well its that time of year so today I had to put my winter wheels on :/

as I pulled it out of the shop it started to snow :/

Productive day today, I got my front doors hit with some more sound deadner, and all of my door handles changed out


need to get the back gate handle down to the painter so I can have them all change out, tomarrow I may get wires ready for second battery under hood

Been busy, but happy Thanksgiving everyone today I was able to get my alt on I ordered a 270 amp Custom Electric Services. The stock cable was to short due to the fact that the post was on the top of the new alt instead of on the back like the old one, I ended up making a new cable from the alt to the battery distribution block. Since I used 1/0 I had to trim out the cover for the block to accommodate the larger lug. Also put my airaid in a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks man, funny the lift gate handle was the biggest pain to change of all the handles. But looks way better with painted handles.
