After a lot of research I bought the I2 for my 2016 Yukon 5.3. I have the Max Tow option with the 3:42 gearing and 2 wheel drive.

After reading the Quick Start, I updated the I2 and did my install. I had just filled the tank with 93 octane so my first install was the Quick 93 tune. I drove a few miles and decided to change the parameters a bit. I now have DOD off, speed limiter off, 20% Throttle boost, 10% Firmer Shifts all gears at part throttle and 15% at full throttle. I advanced the WOT Fuel across the board to 10% and spark 5 deg adv at all wot shifts. The way it's set now I get a nice little "chirp" of the tires with a full throttle 1-2 shift. All shifts are firm but not jarring.

Driving the truck now really is fun...I got rid of the V4 "drone" and throttle response is quick with nice crisp shifts.

One of my gripes was part throttle lag in this truck and the lack of response at low to moderate speeds in normal daily driving. Now when I push the accelerator I get instant response....especially when driving in light to moderate traffic 35-60 MPH. I can give it a little bit of throttle and accelerate nicely without forcing a down shift.

The I Tune 2 gives the user to save multiple tunes and switch from one to the other at any time...very user friendly.

I recommend the I Tune 2 for anyone that wants to truly take control of custom tuning their vehicle.

I'm really thinking about getting one of these for my 2016 Yukon XL. Mainly to get rid of the AFM.

I have done a little research on this product and it looks as if it leaves no "fingerprint" on the ECU when it's returned to stock tuning parameters. Has anyone who actually has one of these tuners set the ECU back to stock and brought their truck in for service where it was hooked up to the computer? I would love to buy one of these but I'm not at all interested if there is any risk to blowing my factory warranty.

I know that on my Audi S4 the dealer can scan the ECU and check the flash counter, if anything other than factory parameters/flash count are detected the car receives an automatic TD1 designation on Audi's network which voids the powertrain warranty on the car. I run a piggyback tuner on that car as it does not plug directly into the ECU or OBD port so I just remove it for service, leaves zero trace. My Z06 is dyno tuned with HP tuners software and it's not under warranty so I could care less.

I asked the same question of the Diablo people as well as insider contacts at my dealer. I was assured that there are no flash finger prints...so at 1050 miles on my NEW 2016 Yukon I pulled the trigger.

The fingerprint would concern me too since I am under lease.

Deactivating the AFM is priority #1.
However, I am not sure about most of the other improvements.
The engine performance and transmission shifting really seems spot on for OEM.
I have had several other vehicles where the engine lags or flares shifts and where it seems the manufacturer left hp on the table for comfort. My 2009 Expedition EL with the 5.4l was a dog from factory.
The Denali, at least, really seems to be set up when using high octane fuel.

I mean, being able to chirp the tires in a vehicle this large is awesome. Although I have yet to chirp them into second. lol

Next to AFM my biggest gripe was low speed, part throttle drive ability. One thing that especially irritated me was turning a corner from a stop and having the transmission up shift to 2nd half way thru the turn. Once the turn was completed and I was ready to accelerate into traffic I either had to wait for the vehicle to catch up lugging thru 2nd or floor it causing a WOT down shift to 1st which was totally unnecessary. The way I have it set now no matter what the engine and transmission are ALWAYS on the right spot with shifting and throttle position. The only way it could be better would be to have a "stick" and a clutch pedal ! LOL.

I've had Diablosport on two vehicles, My Silverado had a cam AFM delete, custom exhaust... the CMR software did wonders for tuning. Granted it had to be done on a dyno but very nice for the Intune. On my 15 Tahoe I had Diablew do a tune for me using the same software. I ran logs emailed them and then some more and holy smokes. Very nice with a CAI and a high flow Magnaflow muffler. AFM off for sure. I'd have to say it really make this truck much more drivable and great for traffic. I did talk to my dealer about it and they discussed what is required if you have a "hard" failure, engine / trans replacement and the Intune keeps this from being an issue if you turn it back to stock. Now, if you go throwing on a bunch of aftermarket go fast parts, LT headers, etc then they do have a way of really digging in to the ECU. This can be debated until we all lose interest in reading a 30 page long pissing match thread. Bottom line, you play, you pay. Some dealers are friendly to this others not so much.

Well said...if you keep it reasonable then a "reasonable" dealer will be more inclined to work with you. I kind of feel like we all know where that limit is based on how far we want to go.

The addition of a blower, headers, etc....then showing up with a transmission failure warranty claim wouldn't fly far. LOL

In my neck of the woods we only have 91 octane for premium. Can I still use the 93 tune or would I need to add octane boost?

Any updates? Do you still like the unit? Has it thrown any codes (as some have reported)?

Also, I have a wifi hotspot / insurance nanny plugged into the OBD2 port as well. Can both devices co-exist peacefully? I get mixed reviews on web searches, so any real-life experience is helpful...

You would need a 91 Oct tune... And if you live in Arizona California or Nevada then you need a 91 oct tune specific since the refineries dilute the 91 for those three states...

I read what kpwweb said about it throwing codes. No problems for me with the DS Diablew tune in my 2015. Now in my 2008 the headers caused issues with O2 sensor codes but the tuning software fixed that and the dyno work was done with a wideband O2 sensor. Other than that if it thru a code there was a real problem unrelated to the tune. I'd be curious to see what other have noticed. The DS tuning dollar for dollar is great and as Yukon John said no issues with the dealer when returning it to stock for service.

Just some fyi, the headers would cool much more quickly than the stock manifolds and in cool / cold weather it would throw codes, once it would warm up a bit, gone. All that was done was to adjust the threshold for the code to allow for the cooling. So I had a summer and a winter tune. That cold air sure is nice to tuned motors... and turbo's. I know for sure I pissed off more than one neighborhood enjoying some early morning (shift change at the local PD) cold air WOT pulls in my cars... Sorry officer's on here.. had to be done..

After 4500 miles with the tune I have had no issues with codes or anything else.

I took it into my selling dealer yesterday for it's first oil change and tire rotation at 5454 miles. I have a good relationship with the dealer and was able to go into the service bay and talk to the tech working on my truck. He was a cool younger guy so I told him about the tune and asked if he could tell if there was any evidence of the aftermarket tune ( I restored to OEM before taking it in), He hooked up to his equipment and ran a diagnostic...all is as it should be with no trace of the factory tune being altered. He did recommend that I return it to OEM anytime I bring it in...sometimes the techs will get a flash update from the factory to run on all vehicles in a VIN sequence for improvements.

I will say this...I returned the tune to OEM in my garage before I took it in...my dealer is about 15 miles from my home and in that drive I was AMAZED how much difference there is between my tune and the OEM set up !! Seriously...the difference in feel, power and response is HUGE. I actually felt like I was driving a different truck !! I took the tuner with me and after I left the dealer I stopped in an un crowded parking lot and re installed my tune...BIG SMILE AGAIN !!

Good to know that no traces were left behind on the tune! I was curious if I was going to need to revert back to the OEM stock tune for a simple service visit like an oil change and tire rotation, and it sounds like it would be a good idea to do so.

Fuel consumption goes down at first, mainly because you put your foot into in more. Once your over that you might notice a slight improvement. YMMV, no pun intended.

Gus...don't know what part of town you're in but I dealt with Speed and Truck World on Sunrise in Ft. Lauderdale. Serious speed shop for trucks, off road and SUV's. They updated mine with the latest down loads from Diablo and installed there at their shop.

I know who they are, I've dealt with them before when I had my shop, definitely will look to see the pricing.
