What's your Tahoe to-do list for the Holiday Break?

Been collecting a short list of things to do to the Tahoe over this 4-day break. Who's planning to relax, and who's got the longest list?

For me:

1. Front brake pads and bleed brakes
2. Install Alpine front speakers
3. Install sound deadening in front doors
4. Rinse off all the salt from last week's storm

What about the Yukon, Yukon XL and Suburban guys?

If you were to ask me, I'd say:

1. Plugs and Wires
2. Grease Drive Shaft Yokes
3. Fix the Cats
4. Replace Transmission Dipstick Tube
5. Repair the Mirrors
6. Replace the Interior Door Handles
7. Wash the truck
8. Vacuum the truck
9. Wax the truck
10. Rain-X the truck's glass.

That's the goal anyway, let's see what these old bones can actually get done!

My plans for the few days off are:

1. Wash vehicle
2. Deep clean the inside
3. Shop for oil pan gasket
4. Clean engine and bay up
5. Think about doing gauge LED's

1. Drive it 750 miles from SC to upstate NY
2. Pray it doesn't break down along the way
3. Enjoy a white Christmas
4. Drive it 750 miles from upstate NY to SC
5. Pray it doesn't break down along the way

Not the longest list for sure, but I've done enough wrenching on this thing for the year... Time to put some miles on it and enjoy family

2001 Tahoe To-Do List:

1. Install Airaid Jr intake system
2. Install new LED Tail Lights
3. Brake Fluid Flush
4. Maybe replace front shocks?

The first 3 are a must for this Holliday break. If I can get around to doing the front shocks, that would be great, because I’ve been meaning to do all 4 for months now. I still have to deal with those rear “Premium Nivomat” shocks and springs at a later date as well. Happy Hollidays!

I have the Nivomat shocks too. Rides like a dream but I want to rear to sag less when I'm towing. Probably going to end up tossing in some air bags and calling it good in the future.

I’m a student athlete and work so I barely have time but I have 2weejs off from so hopefully I can get this done
01 Tahoe:
1. Pick up 24 inch rims
2. Buy tires 295/35/24
3. Tint Windows
4. Change gauge lights
5. Remove door moldings
6. Installing new headlights
7. Install 6k HIDs
8. Apply Chevrolet Decal Sticker
9. Change interior lights to LED
10. Paint Bumpers black
11. Installing HD grille and paint black
12. Tint tailights and 3rd break light

Well my last week has been nuts... me and my mechanic friend completely rebuilt the front differential(bearings,seals,small parts ,gasket), complete transfer case rebuild( bearings, seals, chain,small parts, gasket), and also completely rebuilt the rear end as well(pinion seal, axle seals, axle bearings, carrier, pinion, bearings, gasket)...

All in all, almost $1000 to do it all(part and labor to pay him for helping me since i had never done these before and he had a truck lift and experience)

I have plenty of pics that I will add to my older thread and maybe help posters get a better look at the small parts and see the process...

No more trans/tcase fluid swap...

While he was doing the hard work i also did my ram air mod on the lower Airbox, replaced both my wiper motors, and did a fluid flush on the trans fluid to make sure no tcase fluid is in there...

It runs awesome!!! I suppose I already did my list, but now im going to wax the shit out of it and enjoy the fruit of my labor!!

Hello fellow Upstater. Enjoy that real snow.

My plans are to LED swap my entire dash. If the weather is decent I might go roam around and get some photos of the truck.

This would be a great weekend to install a 6 inch lift but I haven't acquired that just yet.

Replace a dead O2 sensor, wash outside again, clean cat puke off the rear seat carpet.

Well did the front brake pads today and bedded them in. Did five 50-10MPH hard stops and started smelling the brakes, but they feel good now!

My Noico 80mil sound deadening came in today. I'll be installing it and my Alpine speakers tomorrow when it's in the 40's and not 30's for once. Will probably still need the space heater to warm up the sound deadening.
