I bought a 95 yukon a few months ago. I wanted to get into off reading and this truck was a good deal. It's 2 door and I was told it had a 6 inch lift kit. It runs great but needs new tires. It has 35x12.5xr17 right now and I like that size. I think it also needs new shocks. The back end sits an inch or two lower and when I was going up the side of a hill it seemed to bottom out easily. I have no problem fixing or replacing anything myself. How can I find out what kind of lift I have and what shocks will fit. Thanks for your input.

Starting with pictures of the lift components would help greatly.

man call bilstein directly. tell them year, make, model, and 6"s of lift. they will ask you what u want to use the truck for and make you some shocks to fit it. it really isnt that pricey just to have them made and you know your getting socks made just for you

Looks like Bilstein 5100 shocks are already installed. Those are really nice shocks. I would pull them off and check them out. If they seem to be okay, I would check the rear springs. Those 6" blocks between the springs and axle aren't the best way to lift a vehicle, but the most common way. Might want to ditch the factory rear springs and those 6" blocks, and get some custom rear springs. Deaver Springs are an excellent resource.

Get in touch with Off Road Design. They special in GM full size lifted vehicles.

I was thinking about changing the rear shocks as well. How do I test the shocks when I take them off? And I didn't know I could call bilstein and get them made just for me. That's awesome!

you sir have a cepek lift, no longer made. The lift is a true 6.5" in the front. Guys with our trucks drool over that front end kit.....seriously a tough kit

I would either put an add a leaf or lift springs in the rear.

My cepek at the current setting is 8" of lift in the front, I have 6" springs in the back too and the front sits higher but never bottoms out on 35s

Thx for the info! I definitely want to change the rear suspension. It's on the list. Do you know how I can test my shocks and see if they are still good?
