4 lo, 6 hi mod. did the 4 hi mod with the relay in the original fuse box, wired in my driving lights to the high beams and by using a 1 amp rectifying diode (1N4001 from radioshack) so that when then highs are on the fog lights (that i'm going to install in a new diesel bumper) will turn on with the lows and off with the highs automatically

Clean them both and covered them up with new all weather covers.

In the process I let me 15 year old drive his first truck today,....the tahoe. It was a humbling experience for him. But noticed that the master cylinder on that is leaking. All my talk about changing the master on the burban

Also had to put a battery in the tahoe. Had a whopping 4 volts when I when to fire it up. Really need to drive it more

I installed my backup camera and ran a wire on my camper for its camera. After crawling under it and stringing 30' of cable, I realized that I installed it bass ackwards. Now it's either crawl under it again and reverse the cable, or buy two gender changers for the power connectors :(

replaced my squeaky HVAC blower motor with unit from advance auto. its a little noisier than expected , but this noise i can handle. also replaced my shot sun visors with the new units from ebay. they were expensive , but there arent too many alternatives.. especially when the rest of the interior is really nice. BTW i put my old ones up on ebay. the mirrors and other parts are in great shape - grey

pinstriped

so the trend is to remove pinstriping... i thought the truck needed a little something on the waistline. put some silver vinyl down , and on the tailgate put an upper and lower stripe. i thought the lower one tied in the two corners of silver rocker color.

Picked it up from the shop. Havent drove it all week, been driving my F150. Couldnt figure out where there noise it was making was coming from. Turns out both u joints on the front shaft were shot. Doh! Could have fixed that my self. Oh well..

It always ran kind of weak, compared to other Vortec trucks ive driven. I just blamed it on 291k miles. The morning i was going to drop it off at the shop it was very humid out. It would crank and crank but no fire. I thought for sure the fuel pump was dying or the crank sensor went bad. My old man said he bets moisture got under the distributor cap. Sure enough. Turns out whoever replaced the cap and rotor broke the pot metal ears off the distributor that hold the cap down, only one screw was holding it on. I cleaned the points off, and used a tiny c-clamp on the broken ear and now it runs stronger then ever.

took advantage of this glorious weather here in north nj to tackle some annoying issues.... replaced the whole power seat track mechanism on the driver side - now i have full function adjustment again :headbang: , replaced my center console due to broken cup holder door on the front , took out the pass side seat thinking i had to replace the seat slide access cable , turns out it only needed adjustment , so now i have a funtioning back seat access lever! i was thre for three today and it makes such a difference! as a reward , i gave her a k&n drop in filter element.:grd:
